STCC Steward Vacancy
The Sim Touring Car Cup are currently looking to replace a departing steward who has given up LFS (crazy fool!).

The post race stewarding process works a bit like this: The clerk (that's me) scans through the race and flags a load of issues. Any I can't decide on quickly I deffer to panel (that's you + the stewards), and any decisions I make in my haste that the drivers protest are deferred to panel too.

The series runs comparable to FIA and MSA regulations, with small ammendments in places to suite the nature of our league. Anyone familiar with real motor sports as a seasoned spectator or competitor should be familiar with them.

Our stewards are ambassadors for our series and this is a very important role, but it is a thankless task. Luckily you dont have to take flakk from the drivers if you dont want too, that's one of my jobs , and any discussion can either be had in the public inquiry thread or in the closed stewards room.

You will be expected to be beyond reproach at all times, to make utterly impartial decisions, and to act in the best interests of the STCC at all times whilst engaged in STCC business.

You wont get paid a penny*.

Candidates should not be affiliated or related to any teams or drivers currently competing in the series, and should declare any future conflict of interest should one occur.

Ideally you will be a fan of a major motor sports series or a competitor in a real life racing series, but experienced sim racers need not let this put you off provided you dont yell "Blue Flag" at other racers or have lots of accidents that aren't your fault (some may not get the pseudo-humour in that...).

The STCC is a major sim racing championship with a broadcast show that already aires to thousands of viewers. Our aim is to establish ourselves as a major motor sports series outside of sim racing, which in turn is very beneficial for the simulation we are based on, LFS.

Candidates must be S2 licenced (demo players dont even post that it's unfair, you cant steward without it), mature, and prepared to give up some time every month to make themselves unpopular with the drivers they've just penalised.

*I dont either, but if I did you'd probably get a cut. It's just that I dont, so you wont...
Quote from Becky Rose :The STCC is a major sim racing championship with a broadcast show that already aires to thousands of viewers.

Now now, let's not get carried away .
I appologise if you dont believe it, but it already reaches thousands of viewers, "1 thousand(s)" to be precise , actually a little over. As soon as I sort out better hosting for the high quality stream it's going to get some publicity too...
I belive it . Good stuff, heh. My only regreat is my lack of license, and thus my lack of ability to steward... Hrm, you know, if the position is still empty (doubtful) by the time I get my license (soon), I'll apply. Just to let you know that there is interest floating about . Also, being a new to S2, I wouldn't have any bias! heh.
Am I the only one who thought "Will it be confidential?" :dunce:
Stewards have the choice of making their deliberations in the closed stewards forum or in the public inquiry thread. Ultimately it's me who posts the final decision made by the stewards in each thread.
I'll do it temporarily unless someone else does that.
I was taking the mick out of myself in my post, it's pretty obvious that you've applied to be a steward if you post in this thread asking to be one
I see what you are referring too, well, there's always the PM feature. However our stewards are listed on the front page of the site so that everybody knows who to send bribes to.

I have now found a candidate and welcome on board Bobby Islam in the role of Junior Steward. I'm sure he'll get a promotion and the higher % rate of pay within a few races too .
