i've been playing LFS on my laptop for quite a while now, but now i decided to start playing on my desktop setup (21"+22" dual view)
The 22" one is running at 1600x1200 @ 75 but it seems that whatever refresh rate i try in LFS, it will still just flicker nonstop. 60,70,72,75,85 at all resolutions. It even makes the 21" which is sitting just next to it to flicker too..
any ideas?

oh..and what about using 2 monitors? is it possible?
how do i setup that?

I have pretty sensitive eyes and I need 85 Hz to get a flicker-free image. I'm not sure anyone would ever notice any flicker at 85 Hz, so that leads me to believe that something's wrong with your monitor. Either that or you have some heavy inductive load on your power (i.e. electric motor) or just otherwise dirty power.

do you have speakers next to your monitor?

nah no speakers, no nothing interrupting my monitors,
and Forbin, thats not the kind of flicker im talking about i also have sensitive eyes on that kind,
i was talking about some serious ****ed up flicker, where the whole screen has waves and the image is displayed in some zic-zac pattern as if the refresh rate was out of the monitor's range

sounds like your monitor is on the way out then.

if you have a spare just use it to verify that it is the monitor.

its working just fine when playing quake 3 / quake 4
it just gets ****ed up when i load LFS

If you use Dual View in windows, and then try and run LFS without starting off at a really low resolution, this is what will happen with some monitors.

Open LFS, try Shift + f6 (which changes to 640x480, iirc). Does it make a difference? Have you tried putting your monitors on Single view temporarily to rule this out?

now the monitor just goes black when i try to play LFS and it wont uncrash..
when i start lfs everything looks fine though

a friend of mine had a similar problem his monitor flickered badly in lfs and rbr ... went completely black sometimes with a bit of a red tint for up to a whole second ... and it only did that in those two games ... he fixed that problem by buying a new one

riiiight riiiight,.. well i wont buy a new one, thats for sure
