Today my x1600PRO AGP comes in. I currently have a 9600xt. Do I need to install new drivers, or can I just keep the old ones?

keep the old ones, although newer ones might be quicker!

best do un-install the old drivers and install the drivers that come with the CD and update them if needed.

And for some random spam - ATI sucks and so do their drivers :P

that's the same card i have. i would try it with your current drivers..and then only upgrade if you are having problems. I haven't seen any difference in any kind of performance after i upgraded to the newest drivers.

I should be getting my X850 today, along with 2GB of DDR800 memory and a 4600 Athlon 64 X2, so I can't wait to see how many frames per second I get. Add a TV tuner, and various goodies, all inside a tiny little Shuttle, and I am a happy chappy. I'll never go back to Midi/Mini towers again

lmao...i don't believe i forgot about those...i had them with my old nvidia card, and then totally forgot about them when i switched to ati.
