im familiar with the classes here in the U.S..anyway what the fk is up with this thread why cant you guys just answer a simple poll? If you dont understand ask and if you dont understand after you get an answer fk off
What do the people belonging in the other three classes do? Stare at those working?
i honestly think this thread is useless, your study is meaningless, all people are "working" and those who don't, leech off of those who do.
oh... and since i am known to flame relentlessly, this thread sucks.
edit:
hm. just saw you're 10 years younger... well... in some years all these that i blurted above will make more sense, i promise ... maybe... good luck with your studies, dude.
Dude, chill. Give the kid a break, he's just trying to do his schoolwork.
He didn't make these names up, either. It probably doesn't make sense to people outside the U.S./U.K. but here they're fairly common.
Basically
Working class = working at McDonalds/other low paying hourly jobs
Lower Middle Class = Working in a factory or something
Upper Middle Class = Middle management at an office or something
Upper Class = C.E.O. or some other executive of a big company
These are just brief examples. I'm sure he's referring to family units, too. So if you live with your parents, use your parent's jobs to classify. If you live alone, obviously, use your own job.
Hope this clears stuff up and puts the thread back on track
Captain Slow, i think it would be a good idea if you edited your first post, saying that these classes ussually pertain to the U.K and U.S. Would create less conflict for those wanting to take part in the poll
Thanks, that was my question when he posted his poll.
And I know he is just doing his schoolwork. But if he asks me to classify myself, and I dont know where the one class stops and the other starts, I could have voted Upper Class, because I consider myself a very good person. But I would have ruined his poll, coz that was not what he meant.
Maybe there should be an option: "I dont know" or: I'm not English, so im not familiar with the English system"
I rated myself middle class upper, because of how people react to how I live. When people come to my home, they say: You live in a villa. I saw it's just a regular house. I'm not superrich, but I just don't have much to complain about, at this moment, there is only one material thing I want that I don't have, a Logitech G25. So I guess I'm okay
Compared to at least 75 % of the world, we all are upper class. We can write, we have a PC, and thus a home, and enough money to buy food and clothes, and we even can buy a LFS license. So we are all rich.
I have said middle (higger)... quiet a rich family! and area i live is a very expensive area :o and i live in an expensive house also , wish my dad would give me his money
