i have a foot pedal clutch but when in first gear and foot off the clutch and foot on the brake in a real car the engine would stop.

even if you come to a stop if you dont put your foot on the clutch the engine should stop also.

ATM, proper manual clutch simulation is practically non-existant. A long standing problem that still hasn't been fixed yet.

At the moment, manual clutch simulation isn't finished, but it is on Scawen's list of things to do, and therefore will get done at some point. But as LFS is evolving in front of us, we get to see everything thats added, which is why we enjoy LFS so much. If people want a 'finished, perfect simulation' then there is already... ummm... oh yes, NOTHING
