Thanks to the magic of Coolmon 2, my desktop is now a Bugatti Veyron dashboard with live dials showing system stats instead of the static rev counter etc... It's my first try but opinions are welcome

Cheers guys, Coolmon 2 is a free download and the battery plugin comes separately. You also can link CM to Motherboard Monitor for temp readouts etc if you can be bothered.

theres one similar like that for rainmeter (which is a small ap that can do tons of stuff; right now i have a clock that shows physical mem. and swap mem. and the time of course; a weather.com thing, a calendar and .. another thing that has a ton of stuff on it [upload speed, download speed, ip address, cpu usage, and HD info])
rainmeter is free, and... its quite awesome

That's pretty cool. I remember using Rainlendar last year but was unimpressed with the memory footprint. Having said that, Coolmon isn't any better (12mb) so I may well switch at some point

You could do the same thing with Samurize
It gives you a warning if you make a config too big, but Ive never had a config slow my pc down. My current config takes less than 5mb
Im pretty sure that veyron thing would be do-able.
