When we get S2? Seems like every other sims drive pass LFS. Last patch (LFS2 alpha) date is Apr. 29th. I am concern, because I already pay for LFS2. There are lots of good thing about LFS, but if progress keep slow simmers move to other sims.

I've played no other racing game where there is such a number of online racers and I'm talking from S2 servers. All the other games out there I've tried have dribs and drabs spread out over loads of servers. Or the server with lots of people is passworded. I don't usually have much of a hard time finding people to race in LFS, theres usually something available for most of the different cars with a half decent grid.

LFS has most number of players online then any other sim, demo, or S2, it doesn't matter, they are online..

Nobody knows. But we should get patch V before Christmas.

Be careful with the "should" thing there. As we have all seen and become acustomed to, the devs will release a patch when it is ready, and rightfully so, not before. Keep up the "should" and Newegg will see an influx of keyboard sales on December 26th from people ruining the F5 key.

There is no gurantee we will get anything before christmas

Patch V will be out when Scawen is happy with it, and there may well be some more test patches before that who knows, just wait and everything will fall into place.

These "when will it be ready/ Ive paid my money for S2" threads just seem pointless to me, people have got to realise the quality of the final product will be well worth the wait, unlike some other fast release sims I could mention.

Korkki has only 1 post anyway, so bare in mind that he might not have been keeping track of these forums as closely as some of the rest of us. In all honesty, if I only checked the LFS main page then I would get frustrated too.

Who cares when they label it "done"? What does that even mean? Live for Speed is an ongoing project. Download the latest version, play it, enjoy it, and if you don't like... try to find something better (good luck).

Actually he's right. A number have driven past LFS on my desktop, directly into the Recycle Bin. Some at near light speed. A couple have gone by twice, thanks to 'patches'......*cough*

LFS is probably the slowest moving sim - icon on my desktop. It hasn't moved from the upper left most corner of my screen in nearly 3 years.

Not me. The LFS icon doesn't actually move much, but something happens over night where it continuously reproduces itself very often. I have 6 installs on this computer and 5 installs on my old computer on the other desk. That doesn't factor in the computer in the middle that smoked. I don't know how many was on that one. I still have my first S1 0.5h demo installed and the original S2 demo. I have LFS icons EVERYWHERE! They are taking over!!!!

I really can't see the point in having this thread remain open. Everything's been said so many times before, in sooo many other threads.

Do people really want the devs to declare the sim finished? It's certainly more finished than most v1 sims out there, and I've never seen anyone give a viable argument to the contrary. So can there really be people out there who'd want development to stop now? Close the doors on progress? Halt mid-flight? Are they really that happy with S2 that they don't want the devs to keep improving it?

I wonder, to myself.. are they nuts, or are they just not thinking about what it is they're asking for? When S2 does go Final, and get "released" as a finished sim, the doors close. No more feature enhancements, no more feature requests, no more physics improvements, no changes.. WYSIWYG and nothing more. Only bug fixes (though there won't be many of those because most of those get zapped during this.. the Alpha stage).

LFS will be ready for FINAL release when it's ready, and not a minute before. And thank the lord for that, too! Long may development live.. in the meantime, enjoy it, knowing that the thing you've paid for will keep getting better and better!

I'm going to close this thread now. I think most of us are tired of repeating ourselves on this topic.
