Are you a dad with kids that like to watch you race? do they say to you " dad can I have a go"?

Well my daughter does, and well why not. From the 27th of January, I will be holding a server for the "younger" genertation of the LFS Dad drivers. This server, will not be Banned enabled. Kids will be able to drive cars around, and not be kicked or banned.

They will be able to experience the "online racing" lfs provides safely.

This is a kids only ZONE, and let them have some fun for a change.

When this server is up, "will be during the day for the children " I will be to hand to admin or comment or help, as my daughters will be having a go."

The cars and tracks will change throughout the day, but due to my connection, places will be limited on a first come first serve basis.

I hope to see many a kid of famous LFS driving dads there, and I hope all you kids enjoy it

Best Regards

Nice initiative Fordie, I hope it goes well.

What an excellent idea, Fordie! Hope it takes off!
Excellent idea, it's nice to see good Dad's around.....does she have a skin made for her yet?
Very cool idea, as a kid (but not a very slow one) I am willing to offer some tips on how to get faster for the other kids!
I thought that was what the STCC new & bronze server was for...

... at least some of the people act like they're kids...

It's not really about speed, it's just to give young kids a go without experienced racers getting in the way.

There is no need to spam this topic with stuff like that, Fordman is trying to achieve something positive here.

I love the structure of that statement

Kudos to Fordie and good luck to those with kids
Nice thing to do fordie. If you need anything let me know. lets keep this a kids only server guys. that means 100% no swearing or abuse please.
Great idea! I've tried to get my daughter to fly with me online before, but she always just wants to fly or race against me with the networked computer. She won't race on my computer because she doesn't like my wheel, LOL. She chooses an 11 year old Thrustmaster T2 with dodgy pots over the Momo, hehe.

I'll have to check this out and try to get her to come online and have some fun .
I wonder if I can drive there, seeing I am still "a kid".

*thinks inside my head...*
Can i join?:haha: Lol
Great idea "Fordman", you should make some layouts with ramps and that stuf to make the tracks funny
I think that some of the things that kids enjoy would be fun, such as ramps on BL backstraight, The OCC layout that we have on the oval.

*keeps thought lingered in head awaiting some idiot to wake up*
Oohhhh, this is what he's been working on, his new league for the kids!

Good idea Fordeh, I hope you get a good turnout, if not i'll sure join you, with clean language, ovcourse.
You should talk to [dSRC] Bladerunner, he has been running the [dSRC] Nursery server for some time now.

It is exactly the same idea, so maybe he might have some tips? I'm just thinking out loud. I'm sure he will post too at some point.

Depends on the age, I reckon. Younger kids will probably be happy to drive a few metres without banging into a wall, or will want to go look at barriers or trees, or other cars. It's less about racing and more about making the connection between the wheel on the desk and the car on the screen. A race? Dream on!
Car park with a few ramps and lots and lots of cones...that sounds like fun for the kiddies
Kids should better go outside than be taught to sit infront of the screen that early in their life.

Errr.... try asking your 10 year old kid to drive your Skyline out on the roads... I'll be there when your kid gets sued to court.
Nice idea Shaun

The current caretaker of nordschleife's dad, let him take out race prepped porshes as an 11 year old by himself....now I'd trade my dad for that guy any day...lol

I totally agree with you here. But when it's wet, and windy, and cold outside, I wouldn't send my children outside to play, would you

Thanks for all your comments guys. This isn't a training server, or anything like that. Its just a server where "children" can go around the track, in the same direction without the pressure's that online racing at our level brings.

This will mostly be a weekend thing, as kids have school and home work in the week, and I am at work.

DADS - please don't treat this as a babysitting service either. Please try to admin your own children, as I will be mine

Daddy Fordie Daycare I don't think so ROFL

Anyway, I will keep you all informed

Regards

Fordie
Hahah, although I'm not planning kids anytime soon, I love the idea!

I'll certainly be around every now and then, for some proper driver scouting
Good idea Fordman.

I have seen one server, Danish i think it was, where kids had the "ownership" of the server.

Adults was allowed, but they had to bear in mind, that the server was for kiddoes I joined for a few races, but driving was hard, and my car spend more time on the roof (uf1000), than it did on the tyres, so I walked away

Maby you can play "catch" with uf1000 You know, cops and robbers stylish
with me its almost the other way around
im the person who plays LFS while my dad doesn't care
PS:im 10 yrs old
