Race Frames
All,

I am looking for the best race frame for under £500. I have found http://www.gameracer.co.uk/ and http://www.gamepod.co.uk/ but wonder if there are any other options out there. My welding skills are rubbish so a self building is not an option but if somebody wants to volunteer their skills a custom build would be great also.

Thanks.

Tim

You could try make it out of wood... i have seen many nice homemade raceframes made from MDF and some 2x4! i know if i had the room and some spare time i would build one.
have you looked at http://www.frex.com/gp ??

Well ..If you can find a little table to put your screen and clamp your wheel onto Fishing chairs are very comfie and are well suited to the position of driving!

hmm.. speaking of racing frames... I'm now thinking of self-built/customized racing frame/cockpit.

I'm sure some of the forumers here have made themselves some cool little frame for LFS-ing, would those kindly share some pictures of your setup?

I'm getting my G25 soon, I'm seriously thinking of customizing my desk to something more suited to the gear I'll be using.

I was planning on building one like this with metal frame (lots of adjustability) but my new house doesn't have the room for it

Check out the work on show in this thread at RSC forum. I'm sure there's something there to inspire you
I remember seeing a really cool design someone made on RSC using plastic plumbing tubing. The tudes were about 3 inches diameter and joined with standard pieces you can buy, like T bends, 90 degree etc.
There was a bit of extra hardware to attach the seat, wheel, monitor stand etc. The heavy duty tubes are strong enough to drill through and fix mdf to.

When I build one, Ill probably start of with something fairly easy to put together like this
i was looking aswell but i didnt find a raceframe that didnt rip me off..

soo..i build one.

and it didnt take that long...

fitted a g25 with sidemounted shifter,a mini keyboard.
and for now..a seat from a busillepall ...but it works.

i have more pics if u r intrested...

sry for bad spelling.
just got the playseats evolution with gearshiftholder for the g25 and i must say it is fantastic! the seat feels like a real seat out of a sportscar, the frame is very sturdy and the seat can be folded for easy storage. price was 378€ including shipping.

peace mo
