As for the Corrado VR6 - tried to get one of those through an MOT for my cousin a couple of years back, it was a complete PITA to work on and after pricing up the parts it was uneconomical to repair. The Sciroccos were good though

If the Clio floats your boat, also check the Citroen Saxo VTR (or VTS), they're similarly light and usually cheap as chips.
