Quote from cyanide :my guess would be... Greece ?

My search did come up with Mt. Washington that is south of Berlin USA, however I don't think it is there as could not find any of such roads there. Greece or Italy, maybe his homeland Norway?
Quote from SNOOP [Drift-Era] :We talking about mountain course here. Not about neons etc. Neons and nitro - not what drifters need. Go to 'We want neon in LFS' thread and speak to those kiddies. (I hate 'em too) I just tried to explain to you why drifters coming to LFS

Research professional drifting if you try to say something like this. Professional D1 drivers actually use Nitrous in some of the cars, to keep revs sustained through a corner, or, in the case of the Corolla's, to be able to keep up with the higher-powered machinery.

I am a fan of all motorsports, which, in my opinion, also includes the 'art' of drift. So don't assume I am a left-wing drift nut, as I prefer some good old Touring-car racing before drifting.

Cheers,
Matt.

PS - I researched that mountain road photo, by simply typing in "Claassens Mountain" into Google Images, and found out, that that road is in Yemen.
Quote from Rooble :Eh? You're asking for a 'drift mountain course' and to justify it, some people have said 'both drifters and racers can use it' well great? But you have the autocross areana for that, what more do you need?

Oh yes! The off-camber corners and elevation changes of the autocross track are simply awesome!

Yemen big

Check out road from 15°10'20.82"N 43°57'49.74"E to south, rather long and rather nice curves, that picture is taken from somewhere between San'a and Mokha I believe, that is one of road they possible did travel on based to diary. I'm sure nobody would not complain from such nice track.

Also as there are events done on public roads, they close those road from public traffic, does it become track then. Same thing at city.
Quote from animal1313 :I think you are wrong. According to this wikipedia article, its a closed track.

+10 to add the Ring.

The Nordschleife has remained a one-way, public toll-road for nearly 80 years except when it is closed off for testing purposes, training lessons or racing events.

I stand corrected.
There is such a huge amount of people who want a mountain road, and the nurburgring as a new track. Almost 100% of the people want the nurburgring.

I really hope it happens.

Yesterday I raced the Nordschleife in RFactor. Its really amazing to race on it. But the gameplay in Rfactor is just :vomit: . Imagine this track would be in LFS...:headbang: I would never touch another Racing Sim. And it would attract more people to buy LFS
I vote for nordeschlife & pikes peak hill climb (mountain course)
This kind of road would be quite different to what we currently have too

Got carried away a bit, 8.9km, possible to make other combinations too, I'm in love :lovies3d:
To the people that are bothered a mountain stage would be too street-raceish. What South City then? We definatly need some form of mountain course in LFS. It would definatly attract more people to the game.
The best mountain track that has it all, hills step gradients weird cambers etc is of course Bathurst ( Mt. Panorama ) why everyone claims the ring nordshif etc are the greatest etc is beyond me, tracks that are no longer used have litte to do wu=ith what they were years ago is sad.

The mountain is the greatest challenge in road racing today, it epitomises the production class cars you rarely see any open wheel crap there as they break too easily. which is how it should be, keep open wheel stuff on flat scalextrix type tracks and put real cars on the mountain.

I lament the descision back in the 80's to include Caltex chase and reduce the speed and flow of the cars and take away the 'hump' on conrod, it was awesome to scram down over the hump and get airborne

I also support a call for a pikes peak type area, after watching that famous video of the guy that has balls the size of coconuts blast up there, it would be awesome. knowing if ya missed in LFS ya can get back in a try harder
Bathurst? Well, hmm, it lacks quite lot of key elements from proper mountain road, imo. It has few proper corners, but it is very different from what I like from good mountain roads. Of course it is not bad track, not at all, just different.

The Nurburgring is probably my favorite track to race at (in games, atleast). Ive raced on it in GT4 and Enthusia. Before you guys say it, yes i know GT isnt THE Most realistic game, but its still pretty damn good. Enthusia ont he other hand, oh man. The physics in that game are amazing.

As for computer sims, ive only had luck with LFS. I have the demo for R factor and GTR2, and neither of them deserve the "sim" title. Rfactor is completley unrealistic, and i really dont like it. GT2 is pretty fun so far on the demo, but online isnt availiable on the demo, so i dont know how fun that would be. I might pick the full version up once i get enough money.

Anyways, just a track like this would be perfect!

The second vid is daylight, allowing you to see the "track" more, but keep in mind they are both two different mountian passes. Second one would makme for a perfect road in this game.
Just check out "passo tremalzo" that is really nice mountain road too, there are so many.
Im a racer, never drifted in my life (apart from unintentionally:razz but i have to say im exited by the prospect of the 17km "Trento-Bondone" hillclimb course coming to NKpro soon.
If its drivable in decent as well as climb mode then im going to be strapping the rain groove tires on to the FF1800 and sliding my way down that mountain
Bringing a hillclimb course to LFS would be great.
Hey, at least those Mountain drifters know proper joining etiquette, they don't just fly out at any time they see fit.

Also, that neon and strobe equipped 180SX was pretty awesome. At first I was thinking 'ricer' but then he got out and went all kinds of crazy sideways, props to him!

Cheers,
Matt.
If a mountaicourse will be implented to LFS, it needs to have many different track combinations, i mean for GTR, TBO and the openwheeler. Some kind of outer ring for the GTRs around a mountain and steep hill tracks inside this ring for the less powerfull classes.

It does not make it less ricer, if there is neon lights and big wings in Japanese car that is rice no matter how it is driven. Some like, some hate, but who cares

Those mountain roads at Sicily are just incredible, you can plot loads of various combinations to that what I illustrated bit earlier as there is some other roads and of course because it is LFS we can make up our own in spirit of those that exists, this is why I like it as we are not so limited as some titles that have 100% real things in it.

The serious hillclimbers use open wheelers, often ex-F1 cars. Some of them manage to traverse corners that I couldn't with the Shelby on its lowest suspension height, and thats a road car!
Quote from JamesK :The serious hillclimbers use open wheelers, often ex-F1 cars

Yep, but would be nice too if we can go hillclimb or downhill on normal road cars for time trial or 1vs1 would be prety nice too
No argument here, I'm not into open wheelers, just wanted to point out they shouldn't be excluded
