Weird Stuff
Hello, I play LFS for a pretty long time now but I wonder if im playing it the right way in terms of FFB

My wheel often goes from one side to another by itself if I let it go or if I just grab it lightly, this seems to happen especially in the FZ5, I thought that was a bit weird, this results in me always having to grab my wheel firmly. This effect happens at all speeds, imagine your standing still and the steering wheel goes from left to right all the time.

Well I read somewhere that I have to disable the centering spring but I have no idea where to disable that with my Microsoft Force Feedback wheel. Its not in the program itself, any ideas or tips which could possibly make my FFB experience better?
Do you have the microsoft drivers installed? ( I hope so..it's the only way to have pedals on a split axis)

If so, go to conrol panel>game controllers>properties...set up a scheme for lfs. In the forces tab turn the Return-to-center tension off.
Yes I do have the split axis, Okay and I turned that off, Its supposed to be like this right then?
Didnt notice a difference btw, the violent shaking is still present

No idea then I'm afraid, i just tested the FZ5..took my hand off the wheel and i drove straight with no wheel shake.
I'm probably stating the obvious now but have you tried re-calibrating it in game? do you have wheel turn compensation off?(i do)...
heh, sorry , I'm really clutching at straws now, don't know what else to suggest tbh

try turning it both ways full lock to lock that might fix it.and try to turn off and then on ffb and then press and depress pedals and doo lock to lock turns again
It sounds like you might just have your FFB settings too high. This happens to me on my DFP every once in a while, not really when I'm stopped, but when I'm driving. If the back end starts to sway, the wheel will turn from side to side trying to keep the car straight simply because of suspension and alignment settings, however the FFB motors in commercial wheels aren't really fast enough to do this, the wheel doesn't turn as fast as it would in real life. Because of this the steering input lags behind slightly, and the oscillation gets larger instead of smaller.

Solution, turn your FFB down a bit and keep your hands on the wheel

Oh, and I do get the swaying problem at a standstill sometimes, but really only when I've come to a stop in such a way that the car is swaying from side to side on the suspension, this effect may be realistic, depending on the amount of lateral movement and caster settings, but the FFB generated seems greatly exaggerated.
