How can I improve? (XFG)
Hi! I'm currently only a demo racer - and I will be until I can get a credit card (a couple of months left ). I'm currently doing around 1.33.80 average. I did a pretty good lap to be me in the replay - though that's only better since then I probably drove at my best . I wish to know where I lose my time!

I know 1.33.52 is quite a good time, though while I wait for s2 I want to get even better. Is there some new technique I have to start using to get better lap times? Do I need to use that heel-toe braking? Or anything else that I'm not aware of? Any tips is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

learn to drive rwd as much as you can because it took me a long time to get the hang of them
XFG aint RWD ?

I think he is meaning that if he's getting S2 in a few months he should learn RWD as much as if not more than FWD

The point to me would be to be able to race, the guys that are constantly doing 1.33.40's~ if they get a clear lap . And there's 2 (3) cars to choose from in the demo. Well I could race with the XRT for a while I guess..
When you get S2 you'll going to race other stuff, the XFG is not much in use in our world

getting that last half a second is VERY hard, you've got the FWD cars (and alot of all cars aspects) nailed, now try an XRG, and then an XRT - although with speed like that you'll fit in S2 quite well.

IMO the XRG is a GREAT starter RWD car, and should help you with balance etc
Just being able to get into the 1.33's would be heaven for me. Still got half a second to go
Yeah as Jakg said, the XRG is good and an easy RWD to learn in. I found that a piece of cake to get into the low 33's. XFG on the other hand I can't get out the high 33's, im actually keeping close touch to this thread to hear if any good tips come about to just getting those few more tenths out of the car.
Bluestream you have pm.
Well, I guess, I've gotten down to the 1.33's pretty fast since I have driven only the XFG, not mixed cars alot, which I guess you do as a s2 user . Though I'll see what I do, either continue with the XFG until I can get s2, or I'll start racing with the XR(G or T).

I'll also see if there's a way for me to get s2, w/out having to have a credit card, I think I'll check it out tomorrow, now that would be heaven for me! And my parents are too afraid to use their cc's on the internet, you know how it can be I guess, I'm not going to try to convince them, but I may be able to transfer money to a paypal account to pay with that in some way.

Thanks for the tips guys!

its up to you - you may want to try the STCC New & Bronze Servers as their usually full with XRG and XFG drivers, and every hour or so they swap to a different track - would be a great way to "get into S2", and then once you've got the feel of the tracks move into something like the TBO's, perhaps on STCC Silver & Gold
.
How long exactly have you been playing to get times in the 1:33s? Wish I could break 1:35
Quote from Macels :How long exactly have you been playing to get times in the 1:33s? Wish I could break 1:35

Well, I've been playing in different, "sessions", I believe this is my third time I pick up this game, and also this is the time when it got most serious. So Basically, it took around 10 laps or so for me to get the feel of the game/car again before I did high 35's (but then I had been playing the game before did 34's back then). That was a week ago or so, I did my first 1.33(.97) 3 days ago.

But since I remembered the braking points etc it was pretty easy to get down to those speeds again . Though I knew before that getting better times than I do now would be really hard, and I thought when making this thread that there might be something new that I have to learn or whatever to get better times. When I did my current pb, 1.33.46, I think it was the first time when I thought I did a perfect lap - I couldn't see what I could improve, even if there's always something that you can improve - which got me stuck.

But just keep at it and you'll get there too! (if that's your wish)
