I love my username, because it reflects the kart name I used to race on pavement (Phantom Banshee, even though they aren't made anymore), and my number (was also my father's number when he ran karts in the 60's and stock cars in the 70's).
The only thing I might change is my racername, since I've been in LFS for 3+ years and am almost 35 years old, so I don't really need a nickname.
Someday I saw a guy named 'penisman' online (That's his licence name), I don't know why but each time I see a nick with sex in it I can't stop to laught lolz0r!
I got LFS right after returning from a holiday in Egypt and because every merchant there used to come at me saying "hey ramses!" (I'm rather tall) I thought it was a good idea to uses it as a nick.
Now, what, four years later I really became to dislike it. Especialy because I had a perfectly proper nick already. If I could only remember why I didn't use that...
One thing I will never understand. I did a search for my name on LFS some weeks ago and it came up with multiple variations like ramses01 or ramses_gp. When I checked wether the name was still available before I joined I would have abandoned the idea altogether when it would have been taken, because I know for myself that the only thing that sticks is the name. The flag will just be forgotten so you become part of a group sharing the same name. But yeah, I was the first
I chose my name Platinum Pete years ago when i first tried online gaming.
Basically it was when i though online gaming was a bit sad (my girlfreind likes to remind me it still is) I logged onto gamespy arcade and realised that there were a few other pete's around. i put my name into a name generator and i thought i would choose the most pathetic sounding name.
I did and its stuck!!
I still think it sounds very corny but i kind of like feeling corny now.
and thats the end of my highly emotional name story
The histoty of Greboth.
My alias is a nickname really. I am fan of rock and metal music which going to a school full of chavs earnt alot of 'grebo' and 'goth' comments. Those of you who are smart enough will have noticed the connection but these comments earnt me the nickname 'greb'. Bored in Religous education one day during my GCSE's I fused the words grebo and goth together forming Greboth. The name stuck from then on and i was called greb or greboth (or crow but thats another nickname) So i had a choice of Crow or Greboth, as Greboth is my email and name on other forums and is more interesting I simply stuck with it.
Don't get called greb so much these days and occasionally online but it is was my nickname and still is to my friends from school.
I have seen your name as m***yrej. I guess its because the swear filter thinks cint means...ah-hem.
I kind of regret mine. I was going through a phase of loving The General Lee, I still think its a great car but a bit of a noob choice of Username. I would change it to Looney if I could. I have seen L(Oo)ney as a username and I was thinking of seeing if I could buy it off him, but I like my stats to be my stats.
I got my race name as the Reyland Escort (see attatchment) had the number plate "L70 ONY or L70ONY" I miss-read it as "L700 NEY or L700NEY" and put "L700NEY" as my number plate. After a few months of trying to find a good race name, I thought " Looney would be ok" So my race name was Moo.Looney from then on. I also noted the error of my way on my plate and changed it to Looney anyway
I know my nickname doesn't sound pretty smart if you don't know the idea behind it, but it dates back even before I got internet. My real name is Áron (or Aron for those who can't see the first letter) and it came from that, my friends started to call me Iron IRL, I use it everywhere on the net. Unfortunately it's pretty common too, but then my surprise was even bigger when I discovered that it was not taken here. Btw it's supposed to be pronounced like irony (without the y of course), not iron.
So no regrets here, maybe, maybe if I could go back in time I would choose a self-made up name, to make it unique.
