Unless you have one hell of a computer, Mike, you won't be able to run the game. It's pretty PC intensive. If you can find 'other means' they by all means try it and see if it works. If it does, then awesome. If it doesn't.. well.. at least you didn't waste your hard earned cash on it

I guess I'm one of the lucky few who haven't had any problems (yet). It runs OK on my rig with maxxed settings. I hate the fact that touching the throttle spins the tyres, and touching the brakes locks up the wheels, though. I Wish there were some settings somewhere to extend the useful zones of the pedals...
I used "other means" before purchasing it, and I haven't had any deal breaking issues with it so far. Runs fine for me too on max settings. Maggot what's your username in TDU?
Total crap on pc. I really cant tell if I am driving 50 or 150 km/h. Well, I did play for almost 2 hours and after that it collected dust in the closet.

I want my wasted cash back you dirty little thieves!

After at least 50 attempts to get a username that wasn't taken I gave up, and so I play offline. Maybe I'll try to start an online account again, though. The prospect of starting from scratch again is not a pretty one, though. Although, once I opened up the racetrack by the airport I stopped doing things to get more points. The whole island was open so I didn't care :P

...the what?
The Oahu Speedway, iirc... You'll get that when you get to Champion(?) or when you finished the points-challenge (40000 it was?)...
Ford Island is a track and there's another one you unlock at Champion somewhere.
You get the raceway when you reach Champion(450 points, just west of airport). When expert you get Ford Island(island in Pearl Harbor).

Did anyone else notice when you get points it raises your game completion percent(i.e. 450 points=45%)?

You get access to Ford Island before you get access to the Oahu Speedway. Ford Island is pretty piss-poor, too. The Oahu Speedway is alright. Ford Island you get at the level before Champion I think.

Yea, that's the idea.
This didn't run on my computer at all, and it's not so bad:

E6600 Core 2 Duo (2.4 GHz)
1 GB Ram
512 MB video memory (GeForce 6200)

Granted, a GeForce 6200 isn't really high-end, but it's not that bad either. It runs LFS with 20 cars on the field with no slowdown at all, and 42 cars in NR2003 with all maxed out settings and hi-res tracks and cars.

It says my video card isn't compatible. I call bollocks, there's an entire bloody list of uncompatible video cards, and it's non-comprehensive.

TDU fanboys will tell me to upgrade my video card, but I'm not going to upgrade something that works fine with all other games I play.

Tbh a 6200 is going to struggle to keep up with any modern game with any eye-candy turned on.

However that's not to say TDU isn't horribly built and runs much worse than it could have been made to run.

For games, your graphics card is a bottleneck. For reference I used to run TDU (albeit slowly) on an Athlon 3200+ and GF 6600GT.
I know that, but that's no excuse for not working at all even with everything disabled and details lowered to the minimum possible.

Besides, it fits my needs at the moment, so I don't feel the need to upgrade. It'll be the first thing I'll upgrade when I'm able to shell out money for it, but right now, I just want to save up for a new console and HDTV. I'm not even much of a PC gamer anyway. NBA 2K8 for the bloody win.
Yes, your card is a bottleneck.

Yes, TDU was horribly coded.

Sounds like a double-loss, unfortunately. Glad it works for you in other games, though
Hey guys,I need litlle help.

I have DFP,and what would be the best way to setup it for TDU?
i know thats a big bump... but:

atari decided to stop making games worldwide and concentrate at the north american market. now the bit that fits in here: they also sold the rights for test drive unlimited to infogrames for 3.4 million euros (around 5 million dollars), i guess now we all know why there was this patch disaster.

source

so what you think will happen with tdu?
Quote from troy :so what you think will happen with tdu?

baah, not a big price to pay to know that all the game bugs in the world are now concentrated in North America, not here...

Infogrames do better job at making games then atari, so I wouldnt worry if I were you
I got a 1.7 Ghz centrino, 512 Mo Ram and a Geforce 6600. Does anyone knows if i would be able to enjoy this game ?
Hopefully it is a good thing Infogrames took over. They might not make it better but atleast they can get something done.
if the cars in tdu, acted like the cars in forza i would enjoy it much more, hopefully infogrames do somthing about that. i think the cars now dont act very realistic were as in forza the cars are alot better handling and more realistic.

Not unless you enjoy slideshows.
I reckon it would struggle to even boot up to be honest, Box says needs a 2.4 P4 minimum, with at least 512 RAM...1Gb recommended
AMD XP 3500+ with a Radeon 1650 and 1 gig. I struggle slightly. With the debris blowing around (I've deleted the debris), I struggle quite a bit.

his Graphics card is entry level too

No, you can't.

Didn't mention that because I was playing it OK with MY 6600 (before I got my 8800GTS)

BUT..I had that linked up to a 3400+ 64 bit Athlon with 2 Gb RAM as well

And with 3200+ 64 bit Athlon, 1GB of ram and Radeon X850XT card it was clearly unplayable slow, even that radeon should be faster than 6600, only shows that game is really badly made and should never been released before fixed, now it still is broken game with too many bugs to enjoy, does it run or not is like lottery.

Well, you can get crap for free, for example Torque is much better game, but still it is not good game
