99% sure it's gonna work?!

You don't even know what a fecking divider is!

32° is IDLE, which means NOTHING.

You took pictures of the laptop while it was STILL ON!

Ahhhhhhhhh

What can i say?
hey...look Jack...im playing LFS and it went till 44, now im doing a Prime95 test, its on test 3, everything fine, temperature going till 50-52

this is 1.74Ghz by the way, im hoping to get into the 2s
Congratulations, but in the long run you are severly shortening the life of your laptop.

"Harjun...the glass isn't empty,nor half full says (10:08 PM):
whats v core?"
first you want to clock to 3ghz, then 2.16 (and a slight hope of 7ghz) your now at 1.75 and you want to go to 2ghz. first of all don't you think you should stick to one speed and build up to that rather than saying "yay, i'm not at 1.75.....i want more" your going to kill that laptop but i think the damage has already been done what with you going straight for the 3ghz and getting nothing but a white screen. do you even read posts? about 3 or 4 people in this thread have told you time and again to do it in steps (step 1, increase speed slightly. step 2, test for stabillity (for more than ten mins and run an cpu hungry program)) but nope, it's your laptop so you know best. unless there's a biggish performance increase i wouldn't even bother and i certainly wouldn't pester other people for their opinions only to ignore them.

To be honest, thats about the same thing as a 14 year old taking an engine out of a car, taking it all apart, putting it back together and putting it back in the car. When they've never even seen an engine.
this is the type of stuff that really bugs me with forums like this. someone asks for help, they get help but don't like it so they just go ahead and ignore those who advise of a bad move and think that everythings going to be hunky dorey. i would love to find that you've gotten the speed out of your cpu and everything is running stable. but i would also love subaru to still make the impreza but that's not going to happen either. i think we should just let him blow up his laptop and then all this stupidness will end.
I have the same laptop harjun. With careful water cooling you can get to 4.0 if you are careful (go up in 50hz steps).

The trick with the water cooling is to keep the surface just below the motherboard - don't dip it in too far, or it'll start to sizzle - a sure sign it's too much. If it does sizzle, don't worry too much, you've got a few seconds 'safety period', although in that scenario you might want to let the laptop dry.
tristan, i dont understand...you want me to dip my laptop in water?
ok. i think i've seen enough rofl. is it just me or is this thread completely bonkers?
Quote from harjun :tristan, i dont understand...you want me to dip my laptop in water?

My friend has an HP laptop with a sempron proccessor, and he OC'd his to 3.5GHz by using water cooling like tristan did.
Quote from Jakg :95 WILL KILL CPU. Anything above 60° will shorten it's life!

you know im strictly against helping people with oc questions especially this kind of questions and most especially on this forum but that is just utterly wrong
most datasheets list a max junction temp of 120+ and a max operating temp of 90-100

anything below 75 is acceptable as long as it happens at true 100% load (tat)

Kev - my CPU is listed at 63.2° (Well, the Xeon is)...

EDIT - Feck, not Kev, Shot... Damn yee with your avatar!

well, strange coincidence as i've done the same thing. i can only recommend harjun to try it.

btw harjun, i was able to overclock mine to just above 7 ghz, let me know if you manage that as well.
the core 2 duo datasheet lists a max junction temp of 100° ... it does have a surprisingly lowish storage temp of 85 though

point is that silicon can take quite a lot and most info youll find on max temps is mythical at best
ive personally seen a chip run just fine after being heated well above 100° (mind you i wasnt aware of the temps it reached until after it burned my finger when i was trying to fiure out why i was seeing wrong data)
Jesus christ. Stop being an idiot. Stop trying to overclock your laptop. Stop being a money wasting fool. Stop asking us here stupid questions, to which the answers have already been told. Start listening to what people are saying.

If you want more performance, get your parents to buy you a new PC.

End of.
Continue being an idot. Continue to overclock your laptop. Continue to be a money wasting fool. Continue asking stupid questions. It really is amusing!
Lol yer I'll go with that purely for comedy factor.

However just got back from the pub and I'm not in the mood for noobs. Another addition to my ignor list I think.

Next time you walk into the pub you should do a clearout of noobs. Just tell everyone that you overclocked your car, all the ones that mutter "idiot, you can't overclock a car". Just throw them out.

I think one very special member of this thread would fall into that catagory.
whenver i try to go above 3 now, my screen goes white, but i can get it to 2.4, and it works good, temperature is 54 with 100% load,

work harder, remember i got mine above 7ghz.
i can only go up to 4...it doesnt go higher, no options,
Oh, I think there is like, an unrestricted version about somewhere. Was a while ago I did this, but I think it was through astalavista.

Stick with the 4.0 version for now though, as the 8.0 version was a bit unstable.
