Demo Races Given Users
I don't know if this has been posted before (obviously because I'm new here), but would it be a good idea to have Demo Racers register like racers do for S1/2, except they obviously don't pay?
You have already registerd to an extent since ur a user here on Lfsforums. Though im thinking your going on about user names and passwords ect. Demo players dont have the luxery though it seems like a good idea sort of since maybe you can remeber the same name so no more wreckers coming on under diffrent aliases.

Im half half thought to completly avoid this you could get yourself S2 for the more revealing look into LFS S2
My bad, I didn't explain myself correctly. I meant in Multiplayer, at least like that, you can spot out the legit racers from the race ruiner's.
It's easier to pay to get rid of the wreckers

Problem is: They don't have to stick to their once registered names... More so when they got a bad reputation... "Register another account and off you go again..." And there is one nick less for a decent racer to choose...
This has been discussed before, and in the conclusion was that any registration hurdles would
  1. not prevent wreckers from doing their thing
  2. add additional hassle for legit drivers - especially newcomers would be put off by having to register
  3. add additional costs and administration effort for the developers to improve the gaming experience of non-paying customers
No offence guys, but why am I seeing it as you're sorta pushing me to buy S2. I don't even have a bank acc, and you expect me to buy it?
No no, that is up to you. We just want to point out that it's very unlikely the devs will do anything to improve the demo server situation beyond the usual cheat protection updates. And whatever you may think, getting S2 is always the easiest and most glaringly obvious solution to rampant wrecker problems - that's just the way it is.

Buying S2 or not is your own choise. I just think not too much should be given away in a demo.

Yes I DO, when you are making an improvement suggestion!

Do you expect people to do work for free? errm NO!!!

As far as I can see you haven't paid any money towards the game and then your expecting people to take on your idea and spend time to make something like this.

Also there will be extra "running costs" for this because the more users the are, means the more stress there is on the master server and therefore its has to have more resources to cope with the extra amount of usernames - more money spent on people(DEMO Users) which haven't inputted and money into the game.

Buy the game and then maybe your £24 may be used to impliment this idea.

Demo racers having user accounts is not viable, for the simple reasons that if they did, they could create more accounts to avoid bans for wrecking or other misbehaviour, and that good racers would be having one of the priviledges of licenced players. S1 and S2 charge for content, and giving Demo users more of that content undermines the system.

That's without going into the server and administrative costs mentioned that might be incurred, for less gain - because more people would be happy with just their Demo accounts.

It could be possible to have an account that expires after it hasn't been used for a few days - but again I do not agree with demo users having any sort of accounts, even forum accounts!
That's rather harsh, we couldn't have this discussion if Demo users didn't have forum accounts

Sam
How about not giving demo users access to the improvement suggestions forum?
Then we'll probably get all the duplicate improvement suggestions posted to General Discussion.
