Nice work Ian, Maybe you could get it on wheels and send it to me? Looks quite fun(ny) to drive one
Seen that video before .

I think it does need karts due to the fact, nearly ALL racing drivers have had something to do with them. For example you cant just ask if you can join F1, you have to build you way through the stages (Cadet, Minimax, Junior Max, Senior Max, Junior TKM, TKM Extreme, 125 Gearbox, Biland etc). You dont have to do all of these stages like you could go from minimax miss out junior and go to junior TKM. This is a different engine etc. TKM And minimax and the other maxes are different karts. The cadet is a starting kart but there is a kart for babies! called the Baby Kart. As Luis Hamilton started in Karting he had to make his way through it like this then he was spotted as a good drive then went onto Faster machines. Now hes ended up in F1 with a MASSIVE wage but a debt aswell (Shouldnt take long the ammount of money your on). In karting there are 2 (Or should i say 3) different karts all together,

2 Stroke Engines, The engine size (For example 100cc) is lower but there quicker due to how the work.

4 Stroke Engines, Higher Engine Size (500cc) But the engines are probably around the same.

The wankel engine - Alan , He invented this, a video on his website www.karting1.co.uk, A kart with i think (If i remember correctly) 50BHP, this can beat a Biland round a track, Biland are fast karts but the wankel engine has power at the top end, normal engines have it at the bottom. So really you thrash the engine and it thanks you for it. A Fantastic kart that was Alan! (He Plays LFS and comes on the forum, im sure this thread will attract his attention!)

I see as karts are really the start of the Motorsport on tracks, Not many people jump into cars straight away, Karting lets you get the feel of contact and learning the racing lines. And maybe in the near future you move on? As im sure alot of karters will submit and be invovled in this thread. You would be alot better if you jump into karting for around 6 years than you jump into cars straight away. You wouldnt know the lines, how to set up the car, how to react to an error which would of accured.

MRT - The MRT doesnt really handle like a kart, It seems to not have a feel of a kart or the look. To be honest im not a big fan of it due to the gears are different (Motorbike engine?) and karts dont have F1 Stubs (Which the wheels fit on to) and at the back i can't see an axle? I just can't get the hang of that.

How about a pole being added to the thread? Will give a better idea of who would like what? And shouldnt this be in the suggestions forum?

Any way,

Many Thanks,

Matty (Karts FTW!)
Oh and +1
No. But we really need Isle of Man.
Quote from deggis :we really need Isle of Man.

Whether we need this style of track at all is a debate for another thread, but if it was implemented, it should be an IOM *style* track rather than the actal one.

One of the best aspects (in my opinion) is the fact that LFS *hasn't* got licenced cars and tracks (apart from the MRT etc). Looking at forums for other games, they just turn into huge bitching sessions about how 'X car doesn't handle like that' or 'Y track hasn't got 4 blades of grass there, it's got 5'. Thankfully this kind of thing is relatively absent here.

scawen sure seems to have a hard time fixing that buffer overrun doesnt he ?

Buffer over flow you mean it's not my problem and your going off topic,Also just to add i don't think it would be so hard to add some length checking,Should have noticed it any way's in the source code.Im sure it won't be so hard to change a dangerous function,Also i sent them every thing they need to know.I don't understand what this has to do with the post.?
Quote from Leprekaun :Ok, mr. nose up in the air . And for you to talk about racecraft, what a joke! you're the most aggressive driver I've ever met and I know many others who think so too, not in the good way, in a REALLY REALLY bad way..

how did you put it in the challenge cup when talking about your very own racecraft? oh aye got it now. qs is a hard racer who races hard. if you have a problem with it then STFU.
oh while i'm here, you don't live next doo to me. i live in ireland. you live in egypt. go back to school and ask your teacher who's right and who's wrong.

My post was supposed to be more like a joke (though I still don't agree with you )
I really like the MRT.

I love the 'immediacy' of it. Everything happens quick, especially the steering and braking. I get a real buzz when I drive it. I like it best around the twisty city circuits with all the lumps, bumps and manhole covers. A real bum-scrapin' rush!

I must admit though, I've only really taken to it since getting a wheel. The MRT with a gamepad was just a bit too 'on the edge'.

So I'd be interested to know, would a kart be just more of what I described above, or are there quite distinct differences in handling?

I like the way you can just about get away with holding oversteer on some circuits if you're really careful, but if you hit a bump you're totally ****ed. Now that is the definition of "unforgiving".

You've got to try it, Gil.

If you enjoyed it with the 'pad, you'll love it with the wheel.

It's a real blast!

Crazy Video... how fast, wow.

Liek it !
Yeah, that Superkart vid really is something. That guy must be one of 2 things, he's mentally insane or theres literally a bit in his brain thats missing called "fear" . Having said that, I would love to drive a Superkart one day, I must be insane then because I've been frightened before in other situations.
karts suck... lfs needs more cars in general.... e.g a fait panda
isn't that the stupid small car that Clarkson used to race against that marathon guy? . If the devs would bring in a small car, I say bring on the Smart Roadster V6 .

2003 Smart Roadster V6-Coupé

but we have the UF1!
Quote from Jakg :Oh STFU. You an him don't like each other. Get fecking over it, by CONTINUING to drag this up in a public forum time and time again you've ended up looking like a bitter moron.

Drop it, please.

He's forgotton his pacifier/dummy, which is why he's in a cranky mood.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :We do have a cart.

Em... ¿no?

BTW: It could be fun to have a couple of karts in LFS, as fun as having other types of motorsports, WRC, hillclimb, LMS...
