Seen that video before
.
I think it does need karts due to the fact, nearly ALL racing drivers have had something to do with them. For example you cant just ask if you can join F1, you have to build you way through the stages (Cadet, Minimax, Junior Max, Senior Max, Junior TKM, TKM Extreme, 125 Gearbox, Biland etc). You dont have to do all of these stages like you could go from minimax miss out junior and go to junior TKM. This is a different engine etc. TKM And minimax and the other maxes are different karts. The cadet is a starting kart but there is a kart for babies! called the Baby Kart. As Luis Hamilton started in Karting he had to make his way through it like this then he was spotted as a good drive then went onto Faster machines. Now hes ended up in F1 with a MASSIVE wage but a debt aswell (Shouldnt take long the ammount of money your on). In karting there are 2 (Or should i say 3) different karts all together,
2 Stroke Engines, The engine size (For example 100cc) is lower but there quicker due to how the work.
4 Stroke Engines, Higher Engine Size (500cc) But the engines are probably around the same.
The wankel engine - Alan
, He invented this, a video on his website
www.karting1.co.uk, A kart with i think (If i remember correctly) 50BHP, this can beat a Biland round a track, Biland are fast karts but the wankel engine has power at the top end, normal engines have it at the bottom. So really you thrash the engine and it thanks you for it. A Fantastic kart that was Alan!
(He Plays LFS and comes on the forum, im sure this thread will attract his attention!)
I see as karts are really the start of the Motorsport on tracks, Not many people jump into cars straight away, Karting lets you get the feel of contact and learning the racing lines. And maybe in the near future you move on? As im sure alot of karters will submit and be invovled in this thread. You would be alot better if you jump into karting for around 6 years than you jump into cars straight away. You wouldnt know the lines, how to set up the car, how to react to an error which would of accured.
MRT - The MRT doesnt really handle like a kart, It seems to not have a feel of a kart or the look. To be honest im not a big fan of it due to the gears are different (Motorbike engine?) and karts dont have F1 Stubs (Which the wheels fit on to) and at the back i can't see an axle? I just can't get the hang of that.
How about a pole being added to the thread? Will give a better idea of who would like what? And shouldnt this be in the suggestions forum?
Any way,
Many Thanks,
Matty (Karts FTW!)
