gah why are you having so few problems with this piece of junk ... mine died ... again
@Shotglass: The first one I had died in about 2 or 3 months. It was ridiculously blurry when I got it and then one day it suddenly got a lot worse (accompanied by a loud crack from the back of the monitor that sounded like arcing). I got it replaced and the only problems I have with this one are the long scratch on the upper left corner (which I try to ignore... :P) and the screen attracting dust like there's no tomorrow, necessitating a frequent cleaning. Oh yeah, and there was the problem with the VGA connector, but I should have been using the BNC inputs to begin with.
hm did you get both of them used off ebay ?

maybe i should get one with a scratch on the upper left ... a friend of mine has a w900 (predecessor with a curved surface and slightly lower refresh rates ... and apparently no green tint problems) with a scratch just like that and his ones working just fine for quite some time now
Yeah, both were from a local guy who had them listed on ebay.
hm do you know the production years of both these ?
I don't know about the other one but this one is dated June 2000.
Viewsonic VX922 2ms LCD here. No lag, no ghosting/blurring.

How can you play with this junk?
According to that page http://www.digitalversus.com/d ... 116&p2=1217&ph=12
This 2 monitor have about the same lag. I used to have the 215TW but couldnt play Nascar 2003 on it anymore, LFS was playable but you could see the delay when turning the wheel compared to the games wheel. I got that pice of shit for free and still gave it back and bought a better gaming one 1 month later which of course wasnt free anymore.

You can hardly experience the real LFS physics on this or any other game physics.
Dell 24" job (I got a good deal ).

You can get "input lag" (where what you do with the controller doesn't register with the game for a short period of time) when you have a setup such as Console -> PC TV card -> PC Monitor, but I wouldn't have thought it was a problem on just a PC setup.
Quote from Christofire :...Console -> PC TV card -> PC Monitor...

I tried that once and can't imagine how anyone could ever play like that. The delay was approximately 250ms (or .25s, a quarter of a second).

I picked up one of these cheap the A04 revision , no lag or tears using the DVI cable, @1920x1200 full aa+af makes LFS look superb and its easy to hook up other inputs and use PIP

my best buy of this year

SD.
17" LG Flatron L1750SQ 8ms of response time. I'm having this one for a while and still had no problems with it .
Hmm well,

All i use is a Relisys 17" TFT, i dont get any lag at all, maybe part of this can be down to cables? and spec?

It's nothing to do with the cable - some people get really anal about response times because they can see 8ms, some people can't tell the difference between 0 and 25 ms - i used a 17" Crappy Phillips with 25 ms response time and i can't tell the difference between it and my 5 ms Xerox in terms of response time

its not about response times jack

As mentioned by AndroidXP, it has to do with the input buffer many new LCD's employ to improve response times. What you end up with is a phenominal response time with no ghosting, but if you're doing any kind of gaming, you will notice that there is a delay between an input (like pressing a key) and the point at which such an input changes what is displayed on the screen.

In fact you should also be able to notice this by paying attention to both what you're seeing and what you're hearing. With such a monitor, you should be able to hear something before it happens on screen.
Dell 22" LCD.

LFS looks fantastic. 1650x1050 60hertz

I think it has 3ms?
I use a 15" wall mounted TFT from a supermarket. Haven't got a clue what the response time is but it doesn't matter as I don't notice ghosting that much and the screen doesn't have any fancy input buffer thing so I don't get lag.

i honestly dont know what your talking about. I dont notice any lag at all (and im not trying to cover it up, im being generally serious).
That includes LFS, Nascar 2003, Nascar 08, Unreal tournament 2003+2004, GTA:SA, HL2, Flight Sim X, GPL, GP3, GTR2, Colin Mcrae dirt, RBR and any other of my damn games i can remember. I dont noticec any lag at all. And there all at the max resolution they'll go (usually 1920 x 1200) and i use them all at max AA/AF. So i really dont know what your talking about

On another note, unless you have tourettes, please watch your language ok sawyer?

Frenchy
i have a 17" lcd, but using my projector is AWSOME!! the cool thing is that i can put my graphics on full with the projector, but not on the lcd, dont know why though
Thats strange, what happens when you try to put max gfx on your LCD? Does it stutter and stuff or will it just not allow you to change them? If anything, i would have thought how nice you can make your gfx looks would be down to your pc rather the projector versus LCD
