Quote from Blackout :In to wall before he got any time? How bad was it?

"Felipe Massa ended up at the bottom of the times after crashing on his first flying lap. The Brazilian went straight on at Rivage, going across the gravel and nosing into the tyre wall." - ITV F1

Yamamoto not last?? :wow:
Quote from Gil07 :Yamamoto not last?? :wow:

yes 17th is surprising..

Toyota seem to be good in practise, they did good in Monza and Turkey during practises as well..
#8 - DeKo
the bmw's are nowhere. weird. Right enough, friday practice means basically nothing in terms of actual pace.
Fast is fast, any day of the week. Seems like McCheatspy dominating again.

Of course, ferrari and no other team has ever cheated in F1, ever.

Not in this scale.
The Toro Rosso just went from 6th and 7th to 16th and 17th in 30 seconds.
Would they please stop messing with the damn bus stop chicane? I mean, it's not like there was ever anything wrong with it in the first place. Every time we come back to Spa it's different. And not been improved.
They just removed the first part of the chicane.

I wonder for what reason.
Its an all ferrari Front row..
Yay! Go Kimi!

Was very tight on top 4 again though, but it still sucks we don't know how much fuel the guys have.

I guess the pit facilities needed more space or something. Obviously the main straight is now more suitable for F1 cars. I'm more pissed off about the 100 mile tarmac run-off areas.

Thank god Mr. Track Destroyer (Hermann Tilke) was kept away from this track... or was he?
Quote from deggis :Not in this scale.

Let me laugh about that

All the teams share info. I mean, every team knows the others weight distribution and much more things. Like new parts, development, etc.. This has happened since F1 was born. Also, engineers change teams and just bring info and new things to others.

Anyway, interesting starting grid for tomorrow. Alonso saved it magically and was able to continue and the 3 first drivers are extremely close. Hamilton didn't even get close.

Since you have all these information about mass scale cheating in F1, wouldn't you please provide them to FIA and WMSC?

If you can't or if you're unwilling to do so, I must assume that the scale of what McLaren did is much more documented or serious than what you're talking about.

I have no rosey glasses on, I understand that cheating is nothing new and that no one, under a thorough investigation, may come clean, but I prefer to rely upon evidence to support a conclusion. If you have something relevant apart from well known facts/rumours that could help improve sportsmanship in F1 please share it with the appropriate persons. You'd do a favour to the whole circus.
MAYBE, there was something more serious this time but this has been happening since F1 started. Even Jackie Stewart said it in an interview.
Quote from diablo21 :MAYBE, there was something more serious this time but this has been happening since F1 started. Even Jackie Stewart said it in an interview.

A well known interview, I'd say. But as long as you can't provide any new evidence I can safely consider this the most serious case of espionage in F1. That's what the proven facts suggest. You can always counter those facts if you want, but a "MAYBE" won't be sufficient.
There's always been information sharing in F1 but I seriously doubt it's happened on this scale before. Of course a designer is going to take across some facts when he goes to a new employer, but sharing a 780 page confidential document with the Chief Designer of another team while you're still employed at another team is something different. From the WSMC report, it's shown that McLaren personnel knew the exact weight distribution to 2 decimal places of each of the Ferraris in Australia. De la Rosa also said that they had tested a flexible rear wing which he thought was a "copy of what Ferrari uses". These sorts of things aren't really in the spirit of the sport, nor do I think they've happened before.
Yeah, there's a difference between hiring a designer from another team and learning from the previous season and actually transferring current data between teams without consent from those in charge. I don't think espionage will change - people will still time fuel stops and take photos of the car, and they'll still ask questions or discuss their cars over a meal.
