Anyone interested in my laptop?
Was just wondering if anyone is interested in my laptop...it is an acer aspire 5103WLMI, second hand, great condition, although the orbicam doesn't work unfortunately.

CPU doesnt overheat like much laptops...im not posting this thread because i wish to sell it here, i just want to get an idea of selling it...i got it 550pounds brand new...and you can pick them up around 470-500 pounds now days....but im looking around 350-400 for mine, as i wish to purchase a newer computer (desktop), and build it myself.

Fair enough, i don't have a great knowledge of laptops...but laptop will come with the Factory restore CD...and when you first turn it on, it will turn on like it did when i first purchased it...and comes pre installed with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I will give a free Norton Anti virus 2007 software package (opened) but never used to the customer, for free, and the laptop also comes with a free 90 day trial every time you install vista on it

If you like playing LFS...it runs about....70 fps on single grid, with all settings on fulll, and abouve 75 on low settings, on full grid, around 30-40. It plays most modern games, but the graphics card lets everything down most.

I have flashed the BIOS, so you can now allow the Graphics card to use 358mb

here are the specifications:

Thank you very much
Harjun
Has it been opened or over clocked?

Well, thanks Harjun. I've not laughed like that in a long time!

It should read:-

''Excellent condition - well, I say excellent. I mean, I MIGHT have taken it apart, fried the CPU and GPU and messed around with the heatsinks. But who hasn't? Right?''
ok thanks....for ruining my thread, but no i havent fried anything...and yes i took it apart a few times but that was to clean it out and take a good look around at things inside it...still works in excellent condition

TBH that's more luck than judgement.
I'll give you £30 for it.

I'm actually being serious, i would buy it for £30.
Oh god... This can only end badly

To be honest i would never buy a PC that had been fried to within an inch of it's life and had random wires cut.

And if i was stupid enough to buy it i would never pay £350 for it. Sorry mate you need to reconsider the price your asking for it.

I'm not trying to ruin your thread. But you really should be honest with people regarding what you have done to the laptop. All it takes is a little bit of digging for the truth to be revealed...
Does the keypad work now? You said it stopped because a cable snapped?

If it works, I'll give you £50 for it. Where are you in the country, and I might be able to come and collect it. Serious offer - I need a laptop for trackside datalogging (though I'll install XP on it).

everything works fine with it, its in perfect condition...works as it did before...apart from the orbicam...one of my friends cousin's has already offered 300 for it...and he knows what i've "done to it"

He's honestly offered you 300 for it? Wow, i'd go for that anyday. Congratulations on the sale.

I think it's safe to say then, that your friends cousin knows very little about computers...
I'll offer £450

DK
You can get laptops new for £300, unless you particularly need a high spec laptop there's no need to splash that much cash IMO.
Correct me if im wrong, but does'nt PC world have offers for laptops on, going from £299?

im sure i seen the advert.

edit - too slow.

15.4 inch screen, 16:10 aspect ratio
120 GB hard drive, 110 actually useable.
(Im too lazy to post the rest of the specs)
Not bothered about your laptop, but i'm interested in making you an offer for your VXR220.

and to think... i only use it when my pc over heats and/or breaks
What did you expect people to do when you post about selling your laptop here after all the bollox that has gone on.

This post is just another example of not thinking at all before posting
The similarities to the VXR-thread are striking
harjun old buddy, give me £20 and i'll take it off your hands. i'm sure i can use it to prop up one of my technics or something. tbh, we should of had a bet on to see how long it would be until this thread poped up. classic stuff harjun, sign up for some form of comedy show.............seriously, your a natural.
