Ralf Schumacher is to leave Toyota at the end of the season, he confirmed on Monday. Speaking in Shanghai, where he is preparing for his penultimate race with the Japanese team, Schumacher said he has decided to look for a new challenge.

Schumacher joined Toyota from Williams for the 2005 season, but has since enjoyed limited success, with three podiums his best results for the team...

I don't think Ralf has said farewell to Toyota, but Toyata has basically said 'Get out of our team, you hopeless, rubbish inconsistent excuse of a Schumacher family member, and good riddance'.

He won't be in F1 next year. If he is, then whichever team will NOT finish in the top 8 teams.

Yeah, i agree too. But it has been on the cards for most of the season.

Suppose we're gonna have to think up something he can do next year. I vote he replaces James Allen in the ITV commentary box.

I think he needs to get abit of advice from micheal lol. He should of at least be nearly as good as him buthe isn't I liked the race when he wouldn't let alonso through for 6th place lol can't remember what round that was.

All in All i'm not that bothered he is leaving toyota because he isn't really that good anyway.

Yeah, Micheal won 7 WDCs, and passed Ralk fighting over a single point a couple of years ago. Ralf is pissed he got him Mother's driving gene.

didnt surprise me to be honest. He knew toyota wouldnt renew his contract for next season. But it would surprise me to see him in a formula one car next year.

Well I think he wasn't that bad, F1 has seen many worse drivers than him. Toyota is a failure not Ralphfl.

Ralf's another one of those drivers who can be fast one weekend and nowhere the next. A bit like Coulthard, but with more noobish crashing.

I agree, but I believe Coulthard is more consistent than Ralf. I really found that strange considering he's Michael's brother.

He was mediocre, I mean he's better than Alex Yoong and Yuji Ide . But both Ralf and Toyota kinda contributed to not performing well.

Frankly I am surprised how bad Ralf really is... you can't blame the car for so many years. Just goes to show that natural selection really works lol!

What ever he does i wish him good luck but i am disappointed with what he has achieved!

I don't really understand why they came into F1 this year. When you've got a ****ed car company to nurse into administration surely the last thing you need is a racing team to burn extra money for you.

Healthy dose of dutch cockyness / self overestimating.. They tend to forget its been a few hundred years since we sailed the oceans and where actually really good at something (being nasty mostly..)
