Good G25 Alternative
Hi, I'm looking for a good Logitech G25 alternative. I know that there is a lot of these threads, but I couldn't find a proper answer.

What I'm looking for is a wheel with 3 pedals (auto-clutch does my head in!) and a shifter (easier than sequential). I don't want anything dearer than G25, and I'd rather not get a G25. I don't need the leather/aluminium finsish, I just want a cheap 3 pedal + shifter wheel. Any one? Also, what other advantages does G25 have over its competitors that makes everyone get it?
I've read of one other wheel that has 3 pedals and a shifter, can't remember what it was called though. It also came with an analgue handbrake. I don't think it would be much cheaper than the G25 though, if at all, and not necessarily any higher quality. Otherwise, if you want a shifter and a 3 pedal set you're probably looking at buying the components seperately, and spending 5 times what the G25 costs. Simply, there are no real alternative to the G25; it fills a new segment in the market. You either get cheaper wheels with less features, or you pay the money and get true high end gear.

The G25 IS your best bet - nothing else comes close for a reasonable price.
The only way to go cheaper than the G25 and get similar functionality is probably to get a DFP (or an even cheaper wheel), a second set of pedals and a FF joystick. Then apply a bit of MacGyver magic and you'll have your cheap G25 alternative.

However, as Bob already said, there is no cheaper one-piece/no-hassle wheel than the G25.
I think Bob's referring to that nasty Fanatec Porsche ripoff wheel mentioned in another thread, but it's about the same price as the G25 and probably of lower quality.

There are a couple of alternative's but non as good as the G25. There's this one . It was once branded as a Mclaren wheel a few years back which doesn't necessarily mean its any good, and it's not FFB, which in this day and age is next to useless. And doesn't have 3 pedals. But as Bob has already said it means your looking at modding/adding an extra pedal from another set.

Then there's the Thrustmaster RGT which has a clutch pedal version but doesn't have the 900 degrees rotation, which is a strong selling point of the G25. But it's belt driven so it's nice and quiet and maybe just as quick to turn as the G25 ?. Funnily enough i've just bought an RGT tonight from eBay.

Then there's the DFP, which again can be modded to use an extra pedal, and if you pick up a cheap FFB joystick you can use it as an H-shifter stick. I think a few guys in LFS have this setup and they seem pretty chuffed with it.

The list goes on, but it all comes down to how much you wanna pay, or how much you wanna fanny about building your own mods.

{Edit} Damn that Android and his fast typing......
This is what I did. Bought a pair of Thrustmasters, a DFP, and a joystick. And voila.

That wheel is pretty cool for £15. I'm not too bothered about feedback, though. If I was to mod this wheel to have 3 pedals, is it easier to split another set in half and join up one of them, or to get an actual 3 pedal set somewhere? Also, is the shifter on that wheel H or sequential? Picture isn't too clear.

Thanks
Just found this not much time left, but....(will edit this post as i go)

Edit 1: This wheel ain't an easy thing to find any info on, but apparently you can buy them in Aldi of all places, so, i guess it's a hit or miss affair as to the quality. Haven't been able to find out if the shifter is H pattern or not, but i'm guessing it's not, due to the costs, and the pedals don't look that good either.....

Edit 2: I've just been looking at the bits and pieces for the Thrustmaster RGT, and it seems as though the pedals are attached via a simple RJ45 socket (i.e a telephone plug) which means with a splitter you can attach two sets of pedals to it, so, here's the deal, for some reason i'm in a really good mood right now, so:

If you decide not to get that Tevion wheel, and..
If you pick up an RGT 2 pedal version, and..
If the person who i've just bought my wheel from doesn't shaft me and actually sends it to me, and..
If it works without the pedals attached.
I'll send my pedals to you free of charge..

If you're not interested, then the option's open to anyone who might want them, but, i'd prefer if that person lived in the UK/Ireland to save on postage.

Edit 3: Good luck with your wheel hunt, I'm off to watch the footie...
