I have to say it's a bit stupid to race/drift on open roads, even if it's 4 am. Every of your act in the street can kill you and/or other users of it. Plus I think that if you can afford drift and race lessons + a Mercedes, you may have enough money to go on track days, right? Anyway, nice to see you are going to race in real life.
By the way: Try a 240sx or AE86, they will beat your Merc
How do you know he really is on a public road.... its probably just a car park, so dark I can't see where though, it might not even be him... or a mercedes....
i'm pretty sure its just him running round a dark room with two white torches and two red leds making the noises with his mouth....
And then your insurance premiums go up ten-fold because of reckless driving charges when they've found out you were doing 130 mph and drifting on public roads.
I dont know where you get your insirance from - but you are missinformed my friend.
When I insure my car for track days, I have 2 choices - I can pay for mechanical, and accident damage.
Sure its expensive.
I pay approximatly - £10 per £1000 of value - for a days track racing for accident damage - I then pay an additional cost for mechanical damage. I have had this quoted from many insurers (Keith Micheals/ A plan/Swinton)- but the best quotes come through specialists. My club - has a insurance group as a sponsour, so making it easy.
A word of warning.
What you are doing is not big or clever. Its all so down right stupid to do what you are doing (or saying you are doing) in public places, no matter what time of day. Take your action to a track. No sympathy from me bud if you wreck it, and Im sure your insurance company wont pay out either, especially when they find out what you have been doing.... just may find your self in prison to boot.
we need some new variety in our inflamatory topics

As a parent, I hope you kill only yourself and not anyone else acting like an **** on public roads!!! Who cares about your insurance! What about all the inocent people out there? Just because you can race on a video game doesn't meen you can race a real car. Don't be an idiot. Grow up and realize what you are doing may not only effect you. Please rethink doing this!!
Any time I've driven a car quick on public roads it feels soo much better than LFS. I'm sorry but whilst LFS is the best we have at the moment it's still worlds away from reality.
Thing is driving on public roads is so different from driving on a track anyway. You check your tyre pressures, take your road car (or even modified road/track car) around a few country roads, maybe a fast stretch somewhere and it feels awesome - grippy, responsive, dare I say 'flickable'. Take it to Brands, Cadwell, Oulton or Donnington Park and the first thing you say after your first stint is "Where did all the grip go?".
Ofcourse I'm exploring the handling of my car on public roads but only in situations where I can see well ahead (golden rule - "always stop in the distance you can see") and where the risk is reduced because the population is sparce. Biggest risk round my way is meeting some bird coming the other way on a horse. Sometimes with a cart attached!
