Wooooooo Hoooooooooo, what a game.

I second that! first time I've actually watched a rugby game! That was AWESOME!
Blood pressure through the roof...heart rate exceedingly elevated....sweating as much as the players were...totally out of breath....

Bring on the Springboks!!!! (or better still, the Argies! )

Not a classic game by any stretch of the imagination, but pure blood and guts, never-say-die attitude...
Fantastic result, and just wish the footy team could learn to play with half of that commitment and passion.

Blood, Guts, Attitude, Commitment and Passion. <--- You said it right there!
Tough and close match but it looks like both teams were quite stressed and lacked inspiration.
And Wilkinson saved England's day, as usual...

Anyway congratulations for the win and good luck for the final, although England will need more than luck only
Another thrilling example of 6 nations rugby

Go Argentina
I just could not sit still for the 10 - 15 minutes of that match, I almost didn't want to watch in case we lost. Thank god we won though. Overall it wasn't a great match in terms of play, it was more a match of whose got the drive, both in forward and to win, the ambition etc.

Your just jealous because we have one of the world best fly halfs

Anyone watching the match tonight? I have to say if I was a betting man my money would be on South Africa.

@ Benji - How can it be that it was your first rugby game. I have been a fan of rugby for a long time but I know alot of people got into it in 2003, how did you not watch the final in 2003

Is that not just you with the thought of having to move?

I'm glad England are through to the final, but what I don't like is the fact this is like the last world cup, not many people (in this area of England anyway) are getting behind the rugby team, but now we're through to the final people are finally getting their England flags out. Then again, I suppose I am in a football crazy part of England which would explain alot.
What's the difference between France and a Tea bag?

A Tea bag stays in the Cup longer!

Dont knock them like that..after all, they WERE within 15 minutes of sending US home....
However, if you had said the same about Scotland or Australia, then I would agree!

It's called a joke, maybe you've heard of one. You should go to an Ashes game, England rarely wins, doesn't mean we don't use smack talk and joke about with the Cons.

The Final
Once again England make it though to the World cup final. In 2003 England were the favorites, this time round we're far from it. England have grown and bonded so much as team during this world cup, i think we deserve to win but South Africa are the favorites and a bloody good team.
No Team has ever in the history of the world cup won 2 consecutive world cups and never have a team that have lost a pool match gone on to win the tournament!
This is one English man that's absolutely papping it!

COME ON ENGLAND make history!

"SWING LOW SWEET CHARIOT"

*I've got £5 on Robinson to score a try at any time (5/1) and £5 on S.Africa in front after 40 min's and England in front at 80 (7/1). Last of the big spenders i know!
Obvious outcome considering everything and being realistic...but even disregarding 'sour grapes'...THAT WAS A BLOODY TRY!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Boks...but we gave you a few points as prezzies anyway!
Well done to SA, on the whole they we're the best team, not just in this game but throughout the tournament.

And Bladey, it was a close call, but nah, it wasn't a try, if you look closely his foot just touched the line before he raised it. Shame
I think it is funny. As English people are here is how it works :
Previous world cup wins, weren't really cared about, now the first time the World Cup for Rugby is taken Seriously, we lose. But I never watched a game of this World Cup, or any other World Cup. If Rugby's rules were simpler, it would be easier for people to 'plug&play(spectate)' without looking like a tit.

I think it had to be looked at when the ball crossed the try line, at the moment of ball be downed, the knee/foot (not too sure from t.v. angle) was touching the line. Unlucky England, it just was'nt to be.

Think i'll frame that quote. A Jock being nice to England, almost

At first glance i was sure it was a try, and the TV angle from behind the tryline seemed to confirm that. But the opposite angle confirmed he had stepped on/crossed the sideline, which means he had effectively carried the ball off the field of play before crossing the tryline.

England did play well though (especially after they were humiliated in the first game) and it was a hard bruising game. But fair play to the Springboks, they deserved it, they were just that much bigger, meaner, uglier and perhaps had just a tiny bit more luck than our boys.

Well i lost my money, Great game though! A disappointing result but a great game none the less! Congrats to S.Africa. Not sure if i agree with the judgment on the TRY.
So whats the story - England actually tried to run the ball a couple of times ???

As little as NZers support SA ( Who won the Tri Nations then boys ? ) it was good to see the better team win.

A victory for Southern Hemisphire and for running rugby.

And sorry England, if your foots on the line then NO TRY!

And we won't even get to the refs report for our game, lets hope Walsh's seeing eye dog gets glasses for his next match.
