Unless you are running IE you should NOT get popups from it. I use Firefox and have IE7 installed but never use it. I don't get popups.

It could point to a virus or malware. I would say dump Norton and use something else for AV but then I am very biased against Norton after all the support calls I got on some software I created that were all Nortons fault.

Get Lavasoft Adaware and scan you pc for malware then do a full virus scan with whatever AV you use and see what turns up.

Bottom line is that unless IE is open it should not hassle you.
Woz - unfortunately that's not completely true, think how easy it is for a virus to run a copy of ie, even keeping it kidden.

However that's not the problem here, the problem is adware, for which I'd prescribe Spybot, Adaware and Hijack This. You could try posting the Hijack This results here, but you'd probably have more luck on an internet security forum. Worst case scenario you're looking at an infected explorer.exe, which will probably require a system restore.

Also nod32 is not Norton, it's widely recongised as one of the best anti-virus applications available.
Nod32 is amazing, even detecting stuff that isnt a virus, just to be "safe", recognising potentionally malicious code being executed too. It's great.
How about if i remove the IE,am i gonna be allowed to surf internet still?
here is a pic, always from herei get: CiD

Good morning, Mr. Phelps.

CiD windows are generated by the infamous adaware Lop which is installed by programs like Messenger Plus!, BitDownload, BitGrabber and many other ones...

If you're lucky you should have a 'CiD Help' entry and/or a 'Messenger Plus! Sponsor' entry in Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall them all and reboot.

Then check if there are still some bad items on your computer:
Download and extract clean.zip into its own folder
Run clean.cmd and select option 1
A report will be created at the root of disc C: (C:\rapport_clean.txt)
If infected files are detected in this report then reboot in safe mode
Run clean.cmd again and select option 2
Reboot in normal mode when it's done

Feel free to do more scans with Spybot and Ad-Aware Free.

Good luck, Jim.
You can´t remove IE because it is part of the OS. You only can´t remove it creating your own Windows with nLite.
Anyway, there is no reason for removing it, just scan your PC with some anti adware (Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc) with Windows started in secure mode and the problem should be resolved.

I'd say u can,go in add/remove programs, than on left side click on the 3. option from top.its called maybe windows components add/remove(idk coz mine is different language) and there u have the IE checked.
The only thing you remove are the shortcuts, not the browser
No, you must not remove IE unless you are using Vista (Not sure about that either) it will seriously mess up your system.
okay.I just removed the Cid Thingy, will not the ie.My problem has been resolved.Thx again.
