Just get S2 now. Then you dont have to pay the full 36 quid for S3, and you will pretty much have forgotten about the 24 you already spent

I wouldn't hold my breath. Anyways, if you pay for S2 now you will only have to pay a little more to upgrade to S3. So there isn't any reason to wait, even if S3 does by some chance come out soon.

There's almost never a posted release date for anything LFS-related.

There isn't a release date for S2 Final, let alone S3 - so you may as well just get an S2 licence and enjoy driving it in the meantime.

Hmm, now was it additional one month delay each time when someone did ask release date of s3 or any LFS related?

Current estimates in the community put the S3 release date BEFORE the US signs the Kyoto accord.

Originally, there were supposed to be 4 parts, then that was reduced to 3 as the development of LFS matured... It may be that S2 takes a lot longer to finalize and ends up having more features than was initially intended, maybe it won't get the positive reception and acclaim required to motivate the team for S3... then Scawen might decide to ditch the project - bugs and all - and work on a motorbike simulator 'in his spare time' lol

Highly unlikely, but you never know for sure

Whatever happens, there's nothing to lose and everything to gain by buying S2 now - you get the fun of all that extra content and the superior quality of S2 racers plus your S2 license is like a token towards the cost of S3 (assuming we get that far)

lol sam, i think the end of the world will come before then lol, i estimate 2-3 years, total guess, if you buy s2 as the others have siad, s3 will cost less so go for it

I'm with them^ get S2 now! S2 Final will be the same price as the S2 Alpha is now, so you've got nothing to lose - unless, of course, you stay a demo user. With the latest up-to-date demo, you'll lose the XRT which has been removed to make way for the Formula BMW.

The only thing more interesting than a great, multi-faceted sim that works well is being in on the development process of that sim and watching how it improves :up:

Is the system really that hard to understand? It has nothing to do with one's knowledge of English, it's common sense. Study this:
1 stage costs 12 pounds. You buy as many stages as you want. If you buy 2 stages, you will actually pay for 2 stages, which will give you 2x12 pounds. If you want to upgrade your 2 stages to have all 3 stages, you will only have to pay for the 3rd stage because you already own the first 2! UNPRECEDENTED SIMPLICITY

Conclusion: if you wait for S3, you'll a) wait for an extremely long time and b) won't win anything except for being left out of the fun and laughed at.

That was confusing for me...lol
Here is my way of writing the same thing

choice 1. Buy S2 now and pay 24 pounds and enjoy all the S2 content.... When S3 comes out you will only have to pay an additional 12 pounds = 36 pounds in total

choice 2. Stay as a demo and have only 3 cars and 1 track... Then when S3 comes out pay 36 pounds all at once..

I believe it's scheduled to be released sometime this century, about the time gasoline becomes obsolete. (So they will have to make S4, which will involve converting all the cars to bio-fuel or electricity or something.)

Like others have said, buy S2 now. You won't regret it and you won't save any money by waiting (you will however miss out on much fun). Also, seeing it evolve over time is half the fun. Each new patch is like a little (sometimes big:tilt present from the devs:wmann3:.

They're running out of letters fortunatly which means maybe some they will se a Beta!
Anyway i think this is the best "Alpha" game i ever played or heard of, maybe because it doesnt feels an alpha at all.

Well, seeing that all the land on the moon is already sold out and the land lots left are really expensive, I've been thinking about buying some land on Mars, so i can play S3 there for all eternity.

Actually, in beta you don't get anything new stuff, only bugs are ironed out, so if LFS will move to S2 beta, it is quite close to S3 Alpha time then, but when LFS will move to S2 beta and when beta will come final is again big mystery that we don't know of, but best is to get S2 content and use it till it breaks

really funny post... S3 ? better do not mention these two chars again i'm getting nervous...
