I don't have a car either... at least if you were to ask Jeremy Clarkson about it.

I do have a Citroën BX though.

Only problem will be fuel, but i suppose you have money for that

dunno i guess we're like thos two caracters in Father Ted...you know the couple that own the shop that are always trying to kill one and other

fights are good coz makin' up is good fun!
Quote from Woz :I would pick a Mini UNLESS you are going to put on a lot of miles but I am biased

Old cars require you to keep a good eye on fluids etc or you will kill them. I had to get rid of my Mini as I am doing about 25000Km/year and if I hed kept longer would have killed it.

The Mini is a brutally honest drive because none of the controls are damped or assisted like a modern car. It is a far more direct connection between you and the road. The car reacts to the slightest move of your right foot etc

The rewards are a car you can throw about and explore car dynamics and get huge feedback about what you are doing.

The Mini is just the British attempt of the VW Beetle, that's why it's less efficient less beautiful, and poorly made. Plus, the Beetle is driftable

I remember one Beetle, it was running badly and when we checked oils it was all grey, like water in oil, funny thing is that Beetle is not water cooled, was bit of mystery, we then needed to replace engine and that is possible one of easiest cars to replace a engine, very good choice, but don't get one if weather gets cold

I guess that I warned, but stay clear from those FWD things, very bad things, should be scrapped immediately

Yeah Mini's are crap and boring http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RWL_t92cW6w (keep watching till the end )

TBO i do think modern Mini's are pretty much crap and boring. But the old BL Mini's were like little go-karts and you could fix them with a hammer and a roll of cellotape when they went tits up, which they did, a lot.

Way way back about 127 years ago when we were at school and were passing our driving test, one of me pals had a Mini Clubman estate that had a huge hole in between the drivers seat and the pedals. It was big enough to put your feet through. So for a laugh he'd turn the engine off, put his feet through the hole and start pedaling the car along (usually through the school grounds) "Doing a Flintstone" we'd call it.

I have seen that before, but what you don't realise is that Mini isn't a standard Mini Chassis, it's been shortened. So therefore IMO doesn't class as a Mini at all.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3XJXyAILDSs You may aswell mute this, it's just some dodgey music, but watch the video, and you will see the quickest street legal VW Beetle in the UK maybe even the whole world. It ran in the Super Gas catagory at event in this vid cos it is just THAT damn good. Running against big block V8's running on high octane fuel. Running about twice as much horse power and wider tires and setup for Drag Racing. Does 0-60 in about 2.9 tried to get it on top gear but Top Gear said "It's not a subject we are covering" or something like that. And just so you DO know, it DOES run an original AIR COOLED Flat 4, and does NOT run a V8 or anything other than an ORIGINAL engine.

And this : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NgfZycYhzC0 is a German Look VW Beetle doing some drifting, although, this one sounds like it's watercooled, or maybe hes just packing some Weber Carbs!
