I hate car driver who drive on bysicle lane
I was driving in a nearby lil town called Laren

When at the trafic lights and while driving like 6 automibilists nearly ran over me caus they drove on the bycicle lane
and and the trafic lights these arses stood in my way caus they wre standing stil on the lane
if someone parks (stops) for no reason in a bicycle lane i usually "accidently" hit his bumper.
the bump usually does make them wake up.

get a car ya hippy
some ppl live rather healthy and save money
For better of for worse we don't have bicycle lanes around here. Meanest thing I did one day was put a decent dent on the passenger-side door of a new Peugeot when it cut across my path as I was doing about 30km/h despite being able to stop in time. All the bystanders also got onto the driver for causing the accident - pretty classic - nothing happened to the 20+kg tank-like bike I use for commuting so I rode off. Needless to say I mostly regretted the whole incident as it was rather pointless and didn't benefit anyone in the long run. There's a slight possibility that driver will learn to use sidemirrors, but that's rather slim.

Pshh. Cyclists are a menace period in my book. They're a danger to pedestrians when they're on the pavement and a danger to themselves and others on the road. At best they're a pain in the arse.

The solution imo? Cyclists should get a bus, a driving licence or have to pass a damn test.

(I know... bit of a rant... sorry! *hides*)
Quote from TiJay :or have to pass a damn test.

This bit I do agree with. I ride to work and back every day and by far the worst thing I have to contend with is other cyclists who, for the most part, are absolute morons.

Perhaps if cyclists paid road tax they would have some sort of right to have special lanes and a bit of respect on roads
I'll pay road tax the day when bikes cause the same amount of damage and upkeep to roads and general environment that cars do.
Quote :Perhaps if cyclists paid road tax they would have some sort of right to have special lanes

Nah, there should be more cycle lanes anyway because that way cyclists won't be on the road or the pavement annoying people. I wouldn't mind paying an increased car tax if it meant I'd never see a cyclist on the road ever again.

DO NOT get me started on the subject of cyclists.
When they start having some respect for the LAW and respect for other road users, as well as getting the minutest amount of common sense, THEN, and ONLY then, will I listen to any of their pointless whinging.

One thing to add...sensible, responsible cyclists are not the subject of my anger, just the stupid morons who ride bikes and think they are always in the right!

This all reminds me of about a year ago or so when I noticed that a local "commuting cyclists" club wanted to have cyclelanes marked in our already narrow streets. I went to one of their meetings and ended up in a big argument when I suggested that first they organize some "proper road etiquette" seminars which would include healthy habits like "obeying traffic laws". The shit hit the fan when I also told them they should organize some longer rides too so they could lose some kilos and improve their bike handling if they actually want to ride a bicycle safely in town otherwise they'd be better off walking. Apparently their main thing was to stage protests and block traffic to "demand cycling lanes".

Only times I've had problems with cars was when they've violated traffic signs and lights or opened a door without looking - luckily so far I've escaped unscathed. My logic is: "screw who's right, it's me on the bicycle without any real protection so let's be extra careful."

Totally agree with you dude screw al those office men who park for no reason on bycile lane's

One time i got hit by onne i thought i wwas going crazy but i could hold myself and i got the police officer take care to let the guy who hitted me pay my damage

His face was so hilarious
Quote :this tells me you probably havent touched a bike in years

Nope and I don't plan to either. Just personal choice You made some good points about cycle lanes though, I admit that they aren't the solution I thought they were.

Bladey and xaotik, have a thumbs up

And I hate bikers swerving in the car lane. Worst I hate the suicidal bikers who run red light so often where I live that the car lane now is 30kph zone with a 5cm high sharp bump that springs down if you drive under 30kph and is firm if you drive over (just to save the bikers from killing them selves). Learn traffic laws or walk!

I also hate groups of pedestrians in the bike lane, at night without reflexes.
well .never come to Argentina , there are bicicle line , but nobody respect that , so do like we do here , grab a screwdriver pass close to the car who park in the Bicicle line and do a nice and long scratch , next time the guy thinks 2 times after park there

I used to cycle to work in Dublin city centre.

In 6 months I fractured my elbow and broke my collar bone. Doc said it was the worst break he'd ever seen.

I get the bus now.

But seriously, can you imagine our cities if everyone cycled....pure unadulterated bliss....peaceful, safe and a joy to be in.

One day hopefully.

dont forget what country you live in where manners don't exist at all and kids run wild smoking and drinking swearing and wearing stupids matching bright colored tracksuits and calling them selfs chavs

i remember the day i arrived in the uk and was walking down the street and some kid and his dad were walking.

the dad had bought the kid a new toy who rip the packaging off like there was no tomorrow and proceeded to play with the toy dropping the rubbish on the ground.

my dad who after years of living in Australia. where doing this is illegal and u can be fined for it. kindly picked up the rubbish and alerted the father that his sun had dropped this only to be punched by the father then yelled at and and spat on.

So welcome to england we all said to each other.

after that i spent nearly 5 years in england and was the best time of my life but the attitude and disobedience of the younger was appalling. there is a lack of bins and just no discipline or teaching into doing the write thing.

but as said before in another thread thats how i found the uk others my of had a different experience

back on subject more bike lanes would be good i used to dig my bike out about 2 times a month to ride to work to keep my self in good fitness, and if u have to ride on the road well i tended not to i like my life, and it was quicker to ride along the A4 to get to work

Then ther would be cycle jams caus let's face it at some part in traffic organsing we always have one ore more faults
Like our dutch A1 highway the bigest fault of dutch history

like making the cycle road so smal its wil become similair old to car londen

But if that doen't happend that would be a dream comming treu
The cycle lanes in the UK are just SHOCKINGLY BAD.

I was riding down a cycle lane - on a country road, when all of a sudden the cycle lane ended and it was no bikes from that point on... so was I supposed to turn round and go back the way I came from?

It is just rediculous

That bicycler that puts dent on my car drops dead where he stands.. ehm, cycles

However they don't have reason to put any dents to my car as I give them space

Also here we have those big separate roads for them to use here is pic of one of those, see how there is happy cyclist on car park and happy car drivers on car roads, that is how it should be everywhere

I used to use bicycle winters and summers, but my job is now such that have no much of chance.
