I'd imagine that quote specifically refers to manuf's stock settings only, too.
Quote from Ikaponthus :Correct me if I'm wrong (only new), but were you able to have 45 degree lock previously and the devs changed this and reduced it, saying "show me a car that has that much lock in real life" ... ? If so, what more confirmation do you need?

We did show it countless times(even examples with much more than 45 degrees). I don't remember Scawen saying that the car has to be 100% stock. And well, that would be logical since we can tune lfs cars to being not stock in many ways(suspension, diffs etc.), which is a good thing as long as this is what can be done in real life.

Shotglass: Caster modification was avaible in S1.

Thing is, we are asking for more content that is avaible in real life. Why some want less content? Who knows
Quote from kamkorPL :Shotglass: Caster modification was avaible in S1.

i know but this whole argument hinges on that its easy to do in real life on a stock road car (as long as you have the funds to buy springs and antirollbars in .01 kn/m increments anyway) and changing the caster (and camber) by a significant amount on a macpherson is not a 30 minute job like changing a few rods/rollbars/springs
True, it all depends on kind of car ofcourse. Sometimes it's enough to get more degrees by buying special kit.

But in the end - thing is that it is not something out of this planned, like some seem to think.
At the end of the day "we" all probably know that Scawen reads these forums very little (if at all). Scawen took away 45° of lock for whatever reason - tbh I doubt that anything will change his mind.

Maybe in the future we'll see a drift car. Maybe not.

Isn't there a mod that adds 45° of lock anyway?
Not a good one. It's more comfortable to edit max lock with hexeditor than with "that" program.

If devs won't bother to take a voice here(And it would stop I'm guessing about 80% of the discussions we are having about this), then the only solution is community drift mod. Basically LFS Tweak that has hard-coded values for each car. 45 or more steering degree, power settings and maybe tire settings. Then if server-side had appliaction running and client had it too with same settings, things would work I guess.
I've understood that it already works.
If the server and all who join have the same tweaked settings.
just make it so that everything can be done in the garage, except that there will be physical limitations to setups... such as if you make something really rediculous and the sizing doesn't match up, you will not be able to do certain things (such as steer)
<sarcasm>
What about ~170 degree steering lock, like bicycles? I think that would be enough to satisfy every drifter out there...
</sarcasm>

hmm... Drifting with a bicycle...
/me goes outside to drive a bicycle (Don't expect me to come back in any other IP than hospitals)
i actually started drifting on bikes, i have a very big calve.... i have absolutly no prob driving a porsche... and no, you can't drift more then... say... 50 degrees on a bike, for about half a second...

and i broke about 3 bikes learning to control and maintain a slide...
What have Porsches (which don't require strong legs as a rule) got to do with young cows?
hello? heavy clutch?
I wonder how many you've driven - I can't think of one that has a particularly heavy clutch, from the 60s the 00s. Maybe you've just got girly legs?
'74 porsche 911

and, btw, i have 15 inch circumfrence calves, all muscle and i only weigh 135 lb
I was right - girls legs! Besides, you don't use your calf muscles much with a clutch anyway. Maybe the clutch needs adjusting properly.
no? i rest my heel on the floor of the boot and drive with my calves... and how is 15 inches girly? that's a normal leg of someone who is 235lb's
I weigh about 175 - 180lbs, and my calves are about 18" in circumference. But I'm old and unfit now. When I was 18 they were bigger - I'd estimate up to about 20". I weighed less then, being less podgy round the middle.
Quote from tristancliffe :I was right - girls legs!

It sounds as if you are "shouting it" with big enthusiasm and happiness.
Racers have all cars.

Drifters have none.

Would it be so bad just to have one car for drifters?
i am a waterpolo player and swimmer... i have the biggest calve on the team... where u a body builder?
My porsche doesn't have THAT heavy clutch.
Hey you calves people.
Pics or stfu.

First there was the footwork video thread now this. What is wrong with you people?

Ok, I'll have a pic when I get home.

Lower body (ie. legs) hard as a rock. Upper body, definitely out of shape. I'm 35 years old, 231 pounds (lost 4 pounds these last 2 weeks ), and my calves are approximately 20 inches and solid as I've said.

This will sure beat the beaten to death "need more lock to drift..."

Myself I have the perfect 6 pack, its just I lost the plastic bit that holds it all together
I hate this thread.
