2008 F1 car launches

Guess what, Super Aguri won't launch its car at the "launch" event on Feb 19th. Doesn't make much sense as they will suposely use the car on this week's test at Jerez. I hope they use the Honda's 2007 car
the 08 ferrari doesn't look that bad. i do like the new lower shape.
Quote from deggis :FIA is about to introduce new weaker front tyre compounds before the first GP "to slow cars down". That is bunch of crap. Nice excuse to suddenly level down the competition.

(Sorry, didn't find English news link)

FIA = F***ing It All-up. :gnasher:
These strange parts they keep adding wouldn't look out of place in Carmageddon...

Sheesh, what's next, warp nacelles? Might as well call the local chavs to fix it up.

I think it's for testing purpose, i mean i HOPE it's just for testing..
i think it would get banned if planned to use. Looks out of order imo.
Force POWAH India must be having cooling troubles if they need sidepods that big...
I think the Redbull has surprised me the most.. i think they will be up there, bmw and honda are going shamefully, they have to improve!

Don't forget about Williams. They've made a quantum leap from last year for their car. But I'm afraid Nakajima will be too far off-pace to give the team the constructor's points they deserve. Hopefully Rosberg will improve enough to take up the slack.

Honda will need at least another couple of years to break through the mid-field.

BMW is just going through an engineering version of "writer's block", I think. It's like they improved so fast in the past two years, they've just suddenly run out of ideas (hence the ridiculous bull-horn shaped nose winglets, and chassis that is impossible to balance).

That will surely shred both cars tyres next time Massa pushes.

That is for mesuring tyre temperature as far as i know... Any contact with any car and those things are gone.

[edit]
On closer inspection those arent the things i thought they were, they look abit daft though, but are legal by the current regulations...
I'd say they are an air intake for the brakes. They are legal since they don't move. And if they wouldn't/aren't legal, it wouldn't be fair if Ferrari would still have theirs.

I'm not sure about that. In his first and so far only race, he set a faster race lap than Rosberg.

He might struggle early in the season, but I think he'll start to do well at some point. Maybe not shading his teammate, but getting close and pushing him.

How do you know those nose winglets aren't an advantage? Yeah they look silly but if they're fast they're fast.

A lot of people said the same thing about Mclaren's swooping front wing crosspiece when it first came out. It looks strange but it's obviously fast because most cars are using it now.
Surely Mclaren must be sacrificing some wheelbase to have those there...

Bumper cars anyone?

I like the new colours.

Anyone else think Kimi might get a DUI penalty during a race this season...?
Quote from Mustafur :Force india have finally drove the new car at catalunya.

This looks like a very aggressive aero kit, but its based of a very infieroir package so i wouldn't expect to much from it.

It's just one test though, but in saying that Honda and Toyota haven't impressed at all, its intresting to see Red Bull down the order though.
Today we had a lecture from a William's F1 design engineer. One of the things he told us is that Honda's new car is even worse than last year's car.

Apparantly Jenson Button can be quoted saying "The f**kers have gone and made it worse!"

Even Wurz, who used to test for Williams, has told them it's utter crap as well.
Oh so that's why Honda isn't financing super aguri anymore... In case of a bankruptcy they get their hands on a faster car.

Today Trulli went faster than any other driver this week at Barcelona (by almost 5tenths) , proof that the top teams were running heavy earlier or is anyone expecting them to actually qualify in the top 5 sometimes?
it is quite interesting that Honda is not rushing for the opening race in Melb unlike the other teams
