Here is the story, i have win vista ultimate, and my pc is new, the video card is a 7600gt... When i try to take a screen with fraps or start recording lfs @ full screen, it just freezes, i have to go to task manager and kill lfs.. Now, with prt screen, i just get black picture from full screen, i can take pics from a windowed lfs ... What is the deal ? Idk, but once I could take screens from full screen ... But i havent installed anything or changed...

Have you tried disabling Aero. I know I can record perfectly in Vista, but I don't use Aero, becuase it delays alt+tabbing with LFS, along with other issues. The possibility is that FRAPS is trying to record from the DWM process (Aero stuffs), but it can't because LFS takes it back to "basic".

Ok, Right Click on desktop, go to "Personalize", then "Window Colour and Appearance", then from there, in the side bar, it should have "Open classic appearance properties..." from there, you can select either Vista Basic, Vista Aero, or Windows Classic. Basic or Classic should disable Aero. Restart FRAPS (and in Task manager, go to processes and check if DWM.exe is running, if so, end it), and try again.

Besides, the fact that i cant take a picture from lfs @ fullscreen with the button prtscreen has to mean something.... comeon big brains of lfsforum...

As a general note, did you try running fraps as administrator?

Edit: and what fraps version do you have? 2.9.4 is supported by Vista (I just took a look at the site).

Also, check if other full screen games do the same or not.

You guys are not following the points.... CTRL+S freezes lfs too, and yes, i did make fullscreen screenshots from nfs: pro street ...
My biggest question is, why prt screen gives black picture... I mean that is the lead to follow no ?

Problem is still there.. But funny development :P
I ran tlfs benchmark the other day... And with min cfg file, i could record, take screens etc from lfs @ full screen. But with max cfg file it just froze when pushed record or take pic with fraps... so problem lies somewhere there ?
