If your making a league or a "set" of races. You can ask Victor for your own sub section in this section of the forum. Then you can post all info in there.
Thanks mcgas001.
Mariokart I think that's a good idea, then we can use lfsforums "poll" capability to vote for the car and track each week. If we have our own subsection we can make 2 new threads each week, (one for car, one for track) with the poll at top and we can do as far into the future as we want... maybe 2 weeks in advance so we know what's coming up. Only issue would be with non-member votes interfering with the results. That's where an aaron or chad created website would be better, but it's up to them whether they would be willing to put in the work to create and update it. But I think we should at least try it here, did you want to contact Victor, and should I?
I think we are getting somewhere. Al, if you have time you can contact the guy to get our own subsection. I wasn't sure how to do that, so thats why I just made a thread.
Also, we need to be wary of the privacy issues - don't say anything you don't want the world to see :-)
So, we will essentially 'cycle' through the different track areas, with votes for the configuration. The car classes will all be 'votable' each week.
Only issue - whilst there is considerable 'parity' for cars within a class - there will be issues with a particular car being faster for a given track. Not sure how to resolve this one.
Also, we obviously don't want to disclose our server name and password here...
Thanks for those reminders luke
With regard to the slight differences between cars within a class, There may be times when one car is the clear choice to use on a certain track. However I hope that most of the time the "best" car will differ from person to person. For example, the FZR is normally quicker than the FXR, but the FXR is alot easier to drive. So if you were prone to making mistakes in the FZR, it would mean the FXR would be better for you.
Also, the TBO class has a front wheel drive, and rear wheel drive, and an all wheel drive. Each car requires a different driving style, and each style will suite different people.
Lastly, I think people will appreciate having the a choice of which car to drive.
Attached is the results of the RB4 races from last wednesday night. I've used the points system of 10, 7, 5, 3, 2,1 which a few of us agreed on, 1 point for fastest lap. With the FOX race, it was hard to find a meaningful result due to black outs/baby feedings/connection problems etc. I've attached two results, one for every race, another which only counted races which had at least 5 finishers. Post your accusations of bias below...
So, this is at the point just before Chad and I came together on the first FOX race - the only one I participated in (and won ;-)
However, I think there may be shared fault on this one - bit like Lowndes at Clipsal - its an issue of 'did Chad give me racing room' or 'did I come across and take him out'.
