Feedback [moving from spain to portugal]
Dear LFSers , I want some feedback on what you think and would you come , for some time now my parents have been thinking on selling up in spain and moving to portugal to build a kart track , if this were to go ahaed would any of you be interested in having a lfs meet there some time in the future (if it goes ahead ) . im intereted in doing this , cos some of the stuff weve looked at in Portugal is so Cheap compared to back in the UK or Spain .
but there are loads of tracks in england, how can you make the one in portugal so different? Its hard to build a track aswell, due to noise complaints and stuff...

I'd go, if you're not going to be located too far down south

Harjun, just make it in an isolated area where no one can complain as there's no one
I would only go if it was really something special. Such as "The biggest out door kart track in the world/country" etc. Then you would find a lot of British people going.

I can't see the point of the UK LFSers going all the way to Portugal unless it was part of a world wide LFS meet.

Actually, I have family in Portugal, so I would go
I would go and i know some people who would as well wherever it was, since this is not that big

Kart tracks serve a local population, most really only cover a region even if they like to think of themselves as International circuits. Personally I can barely afford to go on holiday with my mates let alone go to Portugal for presumably one or two days for some rental karts. Southern European LFSers will probably want to go to this though and local Portuguese will want to come to rental kart or club race, it doesn't have to offer anything different from other tracks in other countries

Bad idea. Most of the Kart tracks here in PT are empty, not doing that well at all. Our local mega facility barely has anyone on there ever, ive been a few times and never encountered anyone else on the circuit.

Do your research very carefully is my advice.

Best, Maz
ye thanks for replies , if anywhere it would be in a quite rural area so no complaints . will be thought very carefully .
fala portuguese? if yes.. go

If it'd be in a rural area, where would you get your visitors for your kart facility from?

rural being not too far from civilization , about 10 mins from spanish border , thats 1 place , havent seen the others yet , poping over to portugal when i next get some time off .
Altough I really love my country and consider we have the best landscapes in the world, I advice you not moving forward with that idea.
Yes, things are cheaper here , but also the salaries are much lower. For instance (unrealistic values, of course), in Spain, product X costs 10€, and you earn 10€ a month. In Portugal, the same product costs 5€, but you only earn 2,50€ a month, so there wouldn't be much portuguese people around.
The other problem is building the kart track in a rural area. Considering that in the common portuguese rural area most people are over 60 years old, that's another negative factor.

But one question, Which area are you planning to go? Because you said it will be close to the spanish border, and if the kart track would be, shall we say in Algarve, and also with a strong advertisement at Summer time, maybe it could work...

edit: if you would come to my area (Porto/Oporto) I definitely would go there. The tracks we have here are too small...

edit2: off-topic - Speaking about Porto, Champions Again!!!
