Manual vs auto shifting
Hello there, I have problem ...well at first (at patch x) i used manual without any problem (and played quite passive) and did a break for lfs(rl,too much WoW) and came back on y and till now i use auto shifting and dunno. I tried manual now and im faster from constant low 1:15 to mid 1:14 (i know it's faster) if im not making mistakes (miss shift, too fast shifting at braking...) but in racing whole shifting is too distracting and it just feels weird,so what i should do to use manual better without distraction?
Practise.

That is blasphemy! That is MADNESS!!

Kidding, just practice for a couple of days...
I remember myself having this issue some long time ago. Well as far as I remember it took me one evening to get over this. The sooner you do this, the sooner you'll have more fun while racing, so just do it.

It doesn't get much easier than paddle shifters and autoclutch. Using an h-shifter with clutch for road cars is much more challenging and one mis-shift may cost you the race in some of these short sprint races! Real racing is hard!
Heh is it useful to apply some throttle after downshift(i have no clutch pedal for h&t) and sometimes i think i downshift too fast in less than second intervals. And with h gate and clutch i would be more happy as i have practise irl.
Manual shifting is very important for some tracks and cars, because shifting down even when the auto box wouldn't do so can destabilise the car when going through different corners and thus allowing you to take the corner better.

+ Several Million!!!

Since Scawen remodelled the clutch system I have ONLY used H-Shifter + manual clutch (Yes, I _AM_ willy-waving my G25! ) and have found that I am now almost as fast as I was with paddle shift.
Add to that the sense of achievement when you beat somebody that is using 'arcade' mode and it is priceless!
If you want a real workout, try 50 laps of XRG@BL1R (1 hour 20 mins approx)...see how knackered you feel after that!!
