Anyone have any experience with this yet? I've downloaded the demo and have tried to organise my windows and games folders for faster access, but have gotten some strange results. Most things do seem faster though, so maybe it is working properly. Just wondering how you guys are finding it, and whether you can recommend a good strategy for optimal games performance.

Does seem a promising little app.

edit:- I've posted my HD graphic. High performance files/folders should ideally be placed on the outer tracks. (yet there doesn't seem to be much there at all).

Very good program... Actually i use v1.72.
I used for a while when i had a shedload of flightsim stuff on my HD, desperately trying to eek out every little bit of performance.
In the end i really noticed very little difference(if any) from sticking all the relevant files on the outside of the disk.

I've gone back to O+O 8.5.
A good defrag with files sorted by name and a less than 50% full harddrive seems to perform just as well.
Heh, yeah.. after Windows I've put Flight Sim and Stalker as the next highest priority folders. I didn't notice much difference in FSX, but Stalker does seem more responsive and smoother, and Vista feels snappier too.

I've given up on using Perfect Disk, as defrag times were becoming ridiculously slow. I'd spend half a day preparing my HD just so I could play a game

Haven't looked into O&O yet, but I have read it does a good job.

i have installed UDefrag 1.32 since november 2006.
since day 1 i totally love it, and i still use it so far.. didn`t cross my mind to search for a newer version. i don`t know if many things changed, and yes.. for my computer it really made a difference (consolidate defrag with high performance&archiving enabled&configured, boot time defrag & directories close to MFT set).
prolly i`ll check out the new version.. but i`m lazy, this works just fine.

I'm one of those in the "defragging doesn't make that much difference but it takes a long time to do" camp. I use JkDefrag, but I only defrag once in a blue moon.
Hmm, doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the file placement. From my understanding, the purple (high performance) files should all be located on the outer rim, but they're all bunched up on the inner tracks. Actually, it just looks like a big mess
