Yes, the Stig that was driving for the last series, or at least part of it, was Ben Collins. When the HSE report was issued after Hammond's jet car crash, they had to put down everyone's real identities. It says:

Quote from HSE Report :Visit by Ben Collins (BC) to PTLE
37. The preliminary arrangements for the event had been made at arm’s length, with the
result that, as the date of the Elvington shoot approached, no-one from Top Gear had
actually met PTLE’s principals or seen their jet cars. The jet car feature was considered to be
sufficiently unusual and hazardous for GW to ask BC, who worked closely with Top Gear as
a high performance driver and consultant, to go and see PTLE and Vampire, and to prepare
a briefing for RH. It was felt that, with his extensive motor sport experience, he would be
able to confirm PTLE’s competence and the quality of their equipment, and be able to see
through them if they were not genuine. (This was a significant step because Top Gear had
not used BC in this way before.)

It says he's worked closely with TG as a high performance driver and a consultant. Which are the two roles of the Stig...It also says they hadn't used him to test out equipment before, so presumably they have some test driver too, or else another Stig drives the dangerous stuff...

He only does stuff at the Top Gear test track AFAIK, or only in England anyway. When they travel abroad to film, they find a local stand-in. When they're doing something dangerous and specialised (e.g., the snowmobile jump), they find someone who would have more experience at it...
imo TG should of tried harder to keep Stigs identity secret .
what/who is the stig? ive seen a few people calling themselfs the stig around here, but who is he/she/it?
I won't trust wiki anymore...
I don't get it, what's wrong with that

I want to split hairs.
The HMS Invincible doesn't have catapults, like many other small carriers, like the spanish, the russian and the two italians. Only the french De Gaulle, the brazilian (ex-french) Foch and the american Nimitz-class and the Enterprise have catapults.
Quote from Fabri91 :The HMS Invincible doesn't have catapults

but why did the jag have that ... ehm... construction at the back then?
