What is your racing style?
Hey guys i was wondering how do u race in LFS?
as in tactics, startegies and so on...

For me

In turn one (Blackwood of course) on the first lap i like to brake early and let people pass me as there is always going to be one idiot crashing. I tend to play defensive and follow the person in front of me until they make a mistake. If i cannot keep up i will check my position if i have the potential for a podium i will take it easy and let them pull ahead but if im in a position where i have nothing to lose i will push my car to the limits.

This is what i do when i race especially with the FBM.

Regards

Paul

i just noticed my post as on exactly midnight 00:00
freaky
a struggle to stay on the track
well I've kinda stuck with my Mate, being a learner, but I find I'm better on the chase, I get antsy on big corners with a crowd behind me. not so much a strategy as it is my noobness.

Mostly in UFr but Ive been hotlapping tonight in the FXR and it kinda growing on me, though I want to use H shifter
Mostly the same as the OP. i take it easy on T1 and let ppl pass if they want. then ill start to give it all, but the difference is that ill not ease untill i get first. witch never happens. never. untill. now.
I also take it quite easy at the starts, trying to avoid t1 messups. Then from there on I will push hard and focus on being consistent. If I was not consistent my pace alone would not usually put me near the front, so I rely on being consistent to help bring me up the field. This works especially well in longer races of course :P

pull like bull and give nothing for the guy behind you.. tail happy wont hurt either
I try to only crash on even-numbered laps. Odd-numbered laps I try to just look like I'm going to crash.
I don't really know what kinda style my driving is. I just drive, if I overtake someone then hooray, if I get overtaken then boohoo.

BTW, happy birthday Kev, have a good'un. :drink:

You try? Man, with your experience that should be second nature!
Style and stratagies?

Trail brake to the max, and slow-in fast-out
I drive as hard as I can every lap, even in races

it often ends with me quitting early in a heaping pile of twisted and broken metal

T1 I brake a bit early, and get on the gas soon and try to get a run on people as I find the holes in the traffic. People normally go in too deep and get tangled with other people and have to lift mid corner, I'm trying to accelerate all the way through like normal.
slow in, slow out.

I drive to agressive. I have tried to change that for some time, but I can't manage

Else I would say very slow in - fast out.
im slow.
just not on oval i pwn you all!
I lot to control the car a lot with wheel and less with throttle, that's one of the main reasons why I like XRT so much and not FO8
I do brake kinda too late, probably because it gives you feeling that you're doing it faster and it in pretty lot of cases is (fast in, fast out rocks if you manage to get fast out with fast in), but that gives me problems with front tires in longer races, so I'm kinda working on that.
Else then that I can be overaggressive on defending
Back when I raced for real I always favoured understear because my arms would get tired too quickly if I had oversteer, so when I race I use the FXO. My strategy therefore is to loose 8 places at the start, and to try and gain 1 or 2 of them back by the end of the race.
I find a little bit of oversteer works wonders in the FXO, the first corner of Aston Club is a great corner for "backing it in", makes it easy to get the car pointing in the right direcition for a tight apex and good exit.
Two words - hopelessly enthusiastic
my style is drift!!!
Xfg
Brakes on my XFG always maxed to 770 only balance varies ~77-73% . That helps me avoiding (p)big-speed-crashes

damn im a gentle-driver, i even let faster driver pass me, if normal overtaking on track would be too dangerous( track is too narow etc)
Slow.

And if there's a smash on T1 in front of me, I always, *always* seem to get hit by a stray car and end up second to last, and that only because the car behind me has wrecked their suspension..
My style is (or rather was since it's near-impossible to race well with a pad) slow and consistent. My lap times weren't quick, but they were always within about .2 of second of each other. I always felt with a decent setup or a better wheel I could've been competitive.

I'm always a victim of T1 as well, no matter where on the track I position myself or how close to the front I am. Someone invariably ends up punting me into a wall or at least caving in some part of my car.
