G25!
Well.. after quite a while of saving, I've just bought a brand new G25 off Amazon!
I'm so excited.. and decided to post here if theres anything that I should know about it?
Like tips etc.
Thanks
Nath
A search on RSC will come up with a few mods people like (reducing the clicking noise of the shifter and a whole whack of others I can't recall). Additionally, there is also some fixes for common problems (broken reverse being the biggest). Might be worth checking out.

Congrats on the new hardware. I love mine, I'm sure you will too.
Ehlol, Nice nathan xD

Make sure you don't bash the shifter about, or it will break >_>

I've had 2 go and I'm not even rough with it xD
hmmmm....i have one for year and a half (using it with just tad of caution - shifter at least) and enyoing without stopping! but driving from now on with this beautiful thingy is.....ah you'll see
mine tip would be start using all 900 from scratch (except formulas and gtrs)
Best 200 Euro I've ever spent, regardless of whether I suck or no.

If you like to play at night I'd recomend you put it down stairs in your home though, as it can be quite a noisy little devil.

Gratz on the purchase, you shant regret it

I don't know what is RSC... Can you paste link with fix for broken reverse speed, please?

Yep, totally agree. It's given me so many hours of fun... and I've only had mine for six months. I miss it terribly now that I'm on summer vacation for two months.
Try to avoid using shifter as much as you can or be very gentle with it.I wasnt when i bought the wheel so the reverse gear broke down which cost me 3 weeks without lfs.
Should have got it from somewhere else mate. I had to cancel my order with Amazon as their estimated delivery time was October!!!

Ordered it from dabs instead at 7pm, came 10 am next day

The one I got was 10 quid delivery and should come in the next week or so... I've had problems with Amazon before though with postal stuff... but hopefully this should come on time :P

Everyone says the shifter is very delicate... do you mean like slamming them as if they were in a FnF movie, or if you use it as if you would in real life?
And thanks for the tips everyone
Whats RSC btw?
I'd advise you to be quite gentle with the shifter (more so than in a real gearbox). It feels quite delicate and flimsy to me so i just tend to use the paddles for shifting.

RSC = Race sim central by the way

Ah I see thanks...
What happens with the shifter, it's so fragile?
And what's the most frequent errors in G25?
I think people over-emphasize the shifter's faults. I had the reverse fail, but it was/is an easy fix. You can use the shifter just as you would a real car's. If you have problems with it, contact Logitech.. or just do a Google search for the problem you're having and chances are it's a simple fix.

If it breaks it's usually an easy fix - i've had random boots and the top ring on my shifter all break, take 'em off and it works fine...

I am rough with my shifter and never think about how fragile it is while I race. I just bang it into the gear I want as I do IRL and no issues to date. Had mine since release, must have got lucky or some people must use it like a gorilla

Set the force in control panel to 101% and then 720deg lock in LFS and CP. Use wheel turn comp 1 in LFS and it will match the turn for all cars in LFS automatically.
it came this morning
It's amazing!
It's odd though... not the wheel... the fact that i could adjust quickly with using it normally, but could not adapt at ALL with drifting.
I guess some of you anti-drift nuts would say 'its a sign - DONT DRIFT' xD
Well yeah, I wasent expecting this... it's alot better than what I thought!
I havent really used the 900Deg, i've been using 720, seing as though most cars in the game have 720.
It's a load of fun, but i didn't like the fact that the XRR uses paddle shifters... i would of loved to use it with the shifter...
Anyway, it's amazing
Any tips on set-ups?
Thanks,
Nath

The XRR is actually sequential, not flappy-paddle. IIRC Scawen, at some point, intends to properly simulate the differences in these types of gearboxes. The only car in the game that is actually paddle-shifted is the BF1; all other non-gated cars are sequentials. You can, via scripts, have the controls automatically change so that when when you get into the XRR you can use the sequential stick instead of the paddles. Much, much more fun.
Moderation Note: Moved to Correct Section (Wheels and Controlles)
Just a question: Why is the G25 best set at 101% FFB? Is there any problem with 100%?
Commonly known that FFB starts to act more liniary after 101% of force. Thats a Profiler bug AFAIK
