Just another question about wheels:)
Hi there,

I'm just thinking about a new wheel to replace my old Logitech Driving Force. Because I want to play seriously, I am choosing between Logitech Driving Force Pro and Thrustmaster Rallye GT Pro. I like 900 degrees range on DFP, but Thrustmaster seems to me like a more "pro" - you know, metal pedals, iron wheel axis and so on....

As you expect, I want to ask you for your experiences with these two wheels and which one would reccomend me for LFS?

Thank ya for everything

The DFP is a great wheel, i wouldn't recommend buying it because of 900 degrees lock tho, i'd recommend it for the ability of using the lock you want, 400, 530, 752, 249, it will offer a setting you will like
Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of any thrustmaster wheel anymore, I owned three thrustmaster wheels, first two were the old 360 modena's, both broke down, one because it fell down, repaired over time, then I messed it up, the second one suddenly had a failing brake, nothing brake anymore, the third wheel was the new version of the 360 modena's, and it was so damn small and plastic, really worthless. Now I own a dfp and I'm racing for 3 months now with it, and I really enjoy it, always on 900° mode, not many people will agree with me on that, but I just love it this way, harder to control cars, but a lotta fun.
Thanx for your opinions, i think that I will get DFP. So I have another question about DFP, if I wouldnt like 900 degree turn range, can I reduce it to some lower values?
As filur stated, you can set it to any amount of turn range.

Dan,
Wheels or buttons
I've got a Logitech MOMO wheel but am forced to use the two top red buttons for Accelerator and Brake. Hardly kosher, but I'm sure you won't let on. Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong. I have checked my Windows Game Controller and the box which reads "Combined/Not combined is unticked".
Is there anything else I should be doing?
Please forgive my ignorance on such matters.

You're saying the pedals are not working?
Dear Filur

When I am using FLAT OUT, yes they do, but not with LIVE FOR SPEED. There's a simple solution to this somewhere.

My settings for DFP, might help...

thanks Beano, old bean

I'm off to try out that little lot - I will let you know. Ta ever so.
You probably didnt select throttle and brake axis. Just click on the throttle in options/controls/axes ff and add some throttle with your pedal. Do the same for braking but of course use the brake pedal. I had the same problem when I just found out about LFS. To be honest I was about to not play LFS anymore because I didnt know how to setup my wheel.illepall
Thanks Kajojek

So far I'm still not having joy after hitting all the "logical" combinations to configure my MOMO wheel which, when it's working is OK. It steers happily enough but the accompanying foot pedals are redundant.
I have got used to using the two top red buttons for "gas" and brake but will still try to get the feet going!
Many thanks to all who have tried to get to behave properly!!
Quote from mrodgers :That's really wierd. Are you using patch P or Q. My wheel turn compensate (you're pic #2) is in the control settings where yours is in the misc. settings. I remember seeing it in the misc settings in a previous patch before.

I'm up to date, thats just an old set of screenies I have on my webspace.

Hadn't realised the option had moved, but I suppose it belongs in the Control Settings really.
I'm going slightly batty. Pedals are happy when I run GT Legends or Flat Out but not when I'm in Live for Speed. I can make do with buttons under my thumbs and in automatic gear. This Momo wheel does have a mind of its own on occasions.....

If you have a Momo and the pedals work in other games them they will work in LFS. Pedal technology is caveman stuff, not much can go wrong really.
Are there any updated reviews on the G25 NEW WHEEL coming out?
I have been away. Any news on the G25 wheel which is coming out soon please?
