DRIFT is not the same as CRUISE. You should put it into non-racing if you want to lump it together. Or maybe just move all the topics to OFF TOPIC if it's getting on your nerves so bad. I don't mind being yelled at or being called an idiot for talking about "cruising" so keep it the same if you like.

And if you hadn't noticed, there are idiots in all forms of motorsport.

Why don't racers just put up with it? It's just rediculous that you don't just move on, and/or don't press on the thread, what's so hard? I cruise&race, I don't see why there's a need to flame cruisers, no there shouldn't be a new section, i think the racers started this 'war' and should put up with it now they've made it.

The only time certain threads become a problem between racers/drifters/cruisers is when either one of the three says something totally stupid or starts reposting already discussed to death topics or posting a lot of the same type of thread.

Like the current crop of new cruise servers popping up and their owners posting a notice about it in the general section.

I'm not going to argue but i'm sure racers did the same at one point.

Perhaps if you look at it as making topics for Racing, Cruising, and Drifting instead of Racers, Cruisers, and Drifters? Different categories that could be used to talk about techniques and the like would be nice - it gets cramped away. It would also keep this forum from looking like a Mexican Gang War in Los Angeles.

Okay, if thats the way that you put it. Then motor racing sports are also using vehicles in a way that was not intended.

At the end of the day, they were created as a means of transportation, and moving goods. Why race those?

Just because something is being used in a way that it was not intended for does not mean thta it is wrong, nor is it something that should not be commended .

So what aroX is saying is that just because the original founders meant it to be racing, means it better be racing ONLY? Come on - in that case, we probably would still be using the wheel on stick-made buggies and towing them by hand. Seriously, it's not going to kill anything.

Off-Topic: I'm wondering why you guys have such a hard time with the whole drift/cruise, but the guys over at Forza embrace the new trends and gladly try it.. here it's like the Crusades?

I think the forum should be more open to cruising/drifting. It's not like they own the LFS universe. They are only here by the good grace of the devs too

At the end of the day - everybody bought their licence, and they should be able to use it how ever the hell they want.

Im only against separating the forum because many of the programming experts and vehicle experts are racers. Drifters would not have access to their expertise. It annoys me that cruisers spam the forums with their crap, but not enough to warrant that type of separation.

Perhaps the cruise forum (we ARE going to get one! :mr-t could be a sub-forum of the off-topic forum? That way it isn't being supported as a class of driving in LFS, but is still allowed to be discussed

+0.5 ok here is my view on this topic i think there should be a certain forum for Cruise people but i think the Drifters and Racers should stay together beucase i think Bob said it drifting is a type of motorsport and so is racing, and is cruising a type of motorsport, no not really becuase for example you have world FIA racing championships and stuff, you have world Drift championships but do you see world cruiseing championships, no you don't so i in short form i think cruisers should have there own section of the forum becuase cruiseing isn't a type of motorsport but drifitng and racing is. ok and know i'm a drifter but i think i'm going to get into racing just becuase i can't seem to get very good at drifting BUT i would still drift but i would only drift when bored with racing and if i'm bored with racing and drifting i will maybe go to a cruise server but after 1 lap around the track i am bored so i don't really like cruiseing. so in very short form, yes make a section for cruisers but keep the drifters and racers together.

The only thing is i think alow the racers and drifters to be able to go into he a cruiseing area becuase sometimes i like going onto singleplayer and just watching the ai crash into the layout which can be funny.

I just reread Bob's post and i agree with what he's saying 99% the only thing i disagree on is he said cruisers are bored idiots and i disagree becuase when i rarley go on there are some nice people and so far everybody on the forum seems nice but i do agree that cruisers are bored

I would have no objection to a cruise section either but as bob said it's not really something the devs want to encourage.

All you lot that think it's divisive or that "racers" should just "deal with it" are completely missing the point. Just about every other forum I've ever frequented has sections that cover the different aspects of the "subject" of the forum. It's purely so that there are natural places for people that want to discuss the same subjects can go to without having to wade through a whole load of posts on subjects they have no interest in. That would be the SOLE purpose for having a drift and a race section to the forum, simply for the sake of logic and convenience for the forum users nothing else.

I also agree that given there is friction between the two comunities, different sections would allow those that seem incapable of not "biting" at threads they obviously find objectionable to not have to even see them and so stay out of them. Thus improving the atmosphere of the forum. Which I have to say is unfortunately one of the worst of any forum that I've ever frequented.

I agree. I race and drift. And once cruised.

Racers: You crash on one of them in a race = ***** ** *** ***** ** ***
Drifters: You crash on one of them in a battle = Hahahah =D
Cruisers: You crash on one of them while cruising = "This is the police, STOP"

I can see the reason here why drifting and cruising are both growing, it`s a real doodoo spiral, people get into LFS, they try racing, and there`s pissed off people saying gtfo. Then they give a try at either cruising or drifting, and all they get is a warm relaxed welcome and people understand if they`re not professionals all the way from the beginning.

Then those racers who see this happening comes to LFS forums saying that drifting and cruising are both huge piles of poo becouse it takes away all the racers...


I like racing, I love drifting, and.. Well, don`t get the point in cruising, but I`m sure there`s something fancy in it, in the same way why I love drifting more than racing. Drifting is alot more easy going, chilled out and relaxed motorsport compared to racing.

But I still think we all should just keep together and not try to categorize people just becouse they think of something else. We all live in the same f`ing planet, all play the same f`ing game and all of us are humans with our own pros and cons.

I don`t personally like american cars, but I don`t give a damn if someone else loves them over everything else. It`s his/her own opinion and I have my own opinion.
