LFS is awsome! Plenty to learn for years. Very exciting. I waited 4 years driving rFactor, GTR and GTR2 before I had the guts to purchase this simulator. I am still a beginner.
I propose there be a method created where one could choose any track and designate particular sections of that track as the track section to race. This way one could practise on the corners that are giving the driver difficulty without having to race the whole track. This could save time and allow the simulator to be able to better fine tune skills where drivers are lacking. Then using the track analyser one could determine what the best drivers are doing at that particular section and try to emulate that action without having to drive the whole track.
Wish it was possible, because what you talk about team tactics seems intersting aswell. Maybe with a new game engine it would be possible to be able drivin all combo's / unlock them all at same time.
It can be done, sort of. Just create an autocross on that track with a start line a little ahead of the point you want to test, and the finish line just after.
You need to allow a lot of space for speed and take tyre temps into account, but you can get the idea.
I tried that but...

As you say you can add autocross elements to the track and save them and then after you drive by them sure enough there they are. But you still have to drive all the way around the track to get back to the start point and then run it again. You can't hit the Start Race button and have your car at the start of the run, make the run and repeat.

Thanks for the input but it is still an improvement suggestion if it can be reasonably programmed into the game. I still think it would add value to this electronic simulator.
Just press shift+r after you completed the run.
After I posted the same idea about a half-year ago, I was informed that the same idea was posted before. That taught me to use the search button.

As for (not only) your idea, I like it. I just wish that you could also set the initial speed (to avoid the necessity to accelerate from stand-still every time) and not to require the ctr+r combination.
yes, I'd like this very much.. I'm trying to nail Aston Historic in the FXR and am having huge problems on the crested chicane... to be able to do that over and over to embed it in my mind would be a great thing
where have all the "you can't do this in real life either... LFS is a simulator" crowds gone?
