WHAT THE **** is that thing
i vote to close jack´s mouth.
He's not talking about killing/eating meat, he eats meat as he stated. It's the fact that people are so naive to think they UNDERSTAND when an animal has feelings or not. Just because the pig doesn't speak English, doesn't mean it doesn't have feelings. It's fact that animals look at each other with interest for mating and look at who has the best fur or whatever is relevant to that animal. Why do birds sing? We just don't understand them and are too arrogant to give a damn.
The only thing I feel sorry for is the fact that looking at it's eyes it looks like it's blind.

Regardless of what its face looks like, if its got the right genitalia, then other pigs wouldn't look twice.

Certain animals that use their face a lot for communication (for example, a cat) I think *would* be handicapped and treated 'oddly' by other members of its' species, but a pig, as long as it doesn't hurt, and everything works, I think would lead perfectly normal life.
im with jakg on this.

The whole eat meat situation and its born to be eaten.. I agree im with that i eat meat too you know Thats just part of the food chain, Humans are higher up. Simple as.

i think jakg's point (and the point that i am with him on) is the fact that. Animals do one way or another have feelings. I cant prove that they have feelings like us entirely. but i would assume that they do. (they eat, they drink, they multiply, they do daily routines (wether that be get milked and eat grass or roll in crap.. its still a routine that in their lives need to be done)

actually thats just part of the point. the main point is:

Animals in general. Yes we eat them, yes we breed them for specific purposes, yes we treat them in different ways... but anybody who is not bothered wether they are treated in a nice way or a bad way needs to be treated in the exact same way they would treat an animal. "a pig is an animal.. so treat it like an animal" in my book that means treat it well..... what is it in your book?

Pigs is one of the smartest animals.

and some people keep pigs for pets, and they do have emotional response, in many ways like a dog.
+1 for Jakg...I am NOT a vegan, I am a true red blooded meat eating omnivore, and proud of it, but as somebody who has grown up around all sorts of animals from budgies to horses, I can attest to the fact that they DO have feelings..and in a lot of cases, emotions.
I can usually tell how my dog is feeling just by looking at her, and most of the time know exactly how to cheer her up, whether with a treat or a cuddle or whatever..
Rabbits are just as intelligent as dogs, and in some cases, more so, yet that doesn't make rabbit stew taste worse.
Just because we eat animals does not mean that we can't respect them.
I am just glad I am not a hypocrite like a certain well-known vegan...In an interview he said that he was totally against the killing of animals for ANY purpose, whether for food or clothing or whatever..he wouldn't even wear leather shoes! Then the interviewer guided the conversation to horse-riding, as the 'person' was a well-known equestrian. The 'person' then went on a spiel about how he treated his horse with love and respect, and saw it more as a partner than a slave etc etc...
When the interviewer pointed out that the horses tack was made of leather, the 'person' fell into a very embarrassed silence..was quite funny

We find freaks "freaky" because we are told to look at certain qualities to see if a mate is hot or not - and usually the things we look for are signs that she will be good for childbirth. It's an instinct and i'm fairly sure pigs probably have it to...
Quote from Riders Motion :A pig is an animal, so threat it like an animal.

Wow.

Men are animals so threat them like animals.

:thumbsdow
:faint2: Poor piggy
