Dogs don't live long enough.
Sorry to hear this mate. I can relate to you and its sad .
I feel for ya man.

Had my dog put down a few months ago, she was 16 years old. (As old as me, known her since i was a baby)

Uterus collapsed due to old age...
Was completely ****ed =/

One of the hardest things ive had to go through...
Surprisingly i didn't cry, i just kind of sat in my room listening to music blankly.

I do that alot... -.-'

Edit:
Go get a cockatoo, they can last up to 80 years. Will probably out-live you.
Quote from Klutch :One of the hardest things ive had to go through...

Then never forget how lucky you are.
Its not right just going out into my back garden and shes not there She just normally comes up to me and licks me.. none of that anymore
Quote from Klutch :Going to ignore that...

If a dog dying is one of the worst things you've had to go through you're lucky, there are many things in life that are much worse.
Sad to hear mate. It's allways hard to lose animals you care about, it's a cat, dog or bird it still is the same, you get a personal bond to them that hurts like hell when it's broken.

yeh my dad said he saw his dad dead in a chair, He was crying for months on end.

I have had bad things like uncles Dieing, Aunties and both of my grandads but they didnt effect me as much as this is..
God. If anything happened to my dog I would be devistated.

I'm sorry. R.I.P Tiny.

For you.

What makes you think that it's the same for him?

Totally stupid comment to post in such a thread. :thumbsdow

Which pretty much makes my point, he is lucky he hasn't had to go through anything worse.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I have a 4 year old German Shepherd, i don't know what i would do without her!

You have just got to remember all the good time's you had together, it's best not to concentrate on the sad one too much.

You considering maybe getting another dog in a while? It may help and getting another dog doesn't mean you will forget Tiny

Yeah, I am pretty sure anyone will change their mind about the importance of a dog dying if their brother died at 25 of a condition you might have (cardiomyopathy).

I've had three pet dogs die, none of there deaths have really hit as hard as a sibling dying. But maybe it is just me who'd think that, who knows, maybe I am insane.

I knew my dog for 16 years.
Unlike family members and friends, a dog is loyal and will never turn their back on you...

Some people get attached to animals more than humans...

It's pretty closed minded when you say that...

A dog IS like a brother, or sister.
She was apart of my family, and always will be.

It depends on how you see animals really...

I could cry over animal cruelty, yet reading about a person being tortured to death doesn't make me flinch.

Obviously you weren't attached to your dogs.

Not everyone has the same opinion as you, and i think its pretty ****ing offensive that you come into a thread like this and act the way you are.

Honestly wtf?

@ your example, ever thought perhaps not everyone likes their brothers, therefore for some people having a animal pass on would be worse then having a brother pass on

and with an animal you can get closer to it more then you could with most family members.
Animals are always their when you need them.
As klutch said dogs are loyal therefore you always know you can trust them. But pah, just shhhhh and go away.

@ Jordan2007
Im very sorry to hear that I would be extremely upset if my cat was to die, but at least Tiny didnt have too much.
People, show some respect to Jordan, take this discussion in PM's, don't argue between yourselfe in this topic..

You feel what you feel, when you feel it, because that's WHAT you feel - and your emotions can pack a real punch. If you feel emotionally devastated by the loss of a pet, you ARE emotionally devastated. Screw anyone who tells you that your feelings are not what they are - they're your feelings, and you know them better than anyone.

Jordan, I'm really sorry for your loss. We know it doesn't help when some of us say that we've been through it ourselves, but what we're saying is that you're not alone. Grieving is an important part of the process of living.

Maybe you could do something constructive with your emotional energy. Perhaps you could honour Tiny's memory with a photo album or something similar - many people build web pages in memory of their beloved pets. It'd be a good way to tell the world that "Tiny was here, and Tiny was the best" - something I know that YOU know, and I reckon you need other people to know too.
yeh we are getting a bit photo with her ashes and putting her on mantelpiece, we also putting a sign on her favorite Chair with the words

"Tiny" Never forgotton

I've lost my first dog when I was still a little kid. He was a cocker spaniel, and about 10 yrs old. I was sad like hell, but about 1 month later my dad bought me a puppy, who was also a cocker spaniel. He isn't the same as the one I had before, but definitely attracted my attention from thinking of my dead dog.

Try to get a new dog mate, I'm sure that'll help. It won't be the same, but helps.
Mum dont want 1, she does all the work really... Clean Up the shit, Feed it, Wash it

i try helping a bit by taking tiny for a walk everyday..

And my parents will most probally still have the dog when i move out.. weve had 2 dogs, tiny lasted 12 years and bonnie(Cocker Spaniel) 16 Years

if it even lasts 10 years il be 24 i should be away by then

thing is, we my dad wants to go on holiday with my family (me,sistor, mum, dad)

But My sistor can never go because someone has to look after the dog

((Btw If anyones thinking why was she called tiny Its because i got the name from Tots TV and my first word was tiny))

i dont think any dog was as obedient as tiny was, you told her to do something she would do it.
Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Which pretty much makes my point, he is lucky he hasn't had to go through anything worse.

So why isn't he allowed to be sad about losing someone he loved?

Your ethics are all wrong if you think we shouldn't be sad about things just because we don't all get it as worse as it could possibly come.

Sorry about your loss mate . Try and remember though, 12 yrs is quite a life for a dog. That is like 84 in human years.

P5YcHoM4N, some people look at their dogs like a part of their family. I know I do. You cannot compare losing a parent or sibling to losing a pet. But at the same time, that doesn't take away from the pain that losing a pet can cause.

If you don't have anything nice to say to people in these types of threads, why not just ignore them?
