Fair enough it's new content, but I have to agree. It's yet another 2 door, with similar power to 3 cars we already have.
What we could do with is some sort of RWD 4 door that has something other than a 4 cylinder engine.
Either way, it will be interesting to see how the devs make it look and drive compared to the real thing.

Look at the bigger picture, how many people is the inclusion of another real life car to LFS going to attract?, quite a few I imagine, we don't have ANY real life tin tops currently.

More years back I offered them a real life racetrack for free (the one I used to work at), even got them very accurate GPS data of the track that one very known team (very successful in 24h of LeMans) made during testing there, but again - no...
I really don't want to brag here, but I was the deputy sport director at the second largest racetrack in our country, now I work at the ACCR (the body that has the sport authority in our country), got licenses for Clerk of the course and sporting steward for both cars and bikes, for bikes even a FIM license and just now I'm part of the international Jury at MotoGP in Brno...
I got a very direct access to most resources (drivers, riders, factories, track owners, etc.) directy related to motorsport, but the devs just ignore me, if they wanted I could bring a lot to LFS, I tried, but with no effect...

this really took away my motivation to do anything more in this field for LFS...My guess is it has to do with money and resources. This deal is a publicity stunt for Volkswagen (they even give away a free car) so i think they will receive money for this from their marketing department. Also it's says their importing their car in LFS, so it probably doesn't have to be created from scratch which saves a lot of time. Free content can't compete with that
1 free car and 1 track wow they need to include it.
I guess its too late now... the track has just recently been made into rF and the owners lost interest in having it in LFS... about the car, I don't know, I could ask, but dunno why I shoud...

The promodeal is at the gamesconvention. I think they can affort the S2 licence (if LFS is gonna be used over there, it could be a specialised version)

Also.. i'm wondering, what if Live for Speed had an event like this. ( My game usually had these events and it worked really well on a small community ).
Everyone in the forums gets the opportunity to model a concept car in 3ds max.
I know not everybody knows how to use 3ds max, but i'm sure there are enough people around here who do.
First, there would be a 'Help' thread or something, where the modellers can find information about the models, like, the polycount limits, etc. and the way the cars should be modelled ( Half cars, so you can mirror them, seperate models for the interiors, wheels, steeringwheel, etc. )
If there would be a new section for the 'Concept Car Event', people who are working on a concept car for Live For Speed, could start a new thread, and post updates of their car models there.
Then the community will be able to post comments & critics and suggestions, so the modellers can keep improving their cars.
When the event ends, there will be a lineup of renders/screenshots of the user-made concept cars, and the community gets to vote which one would be the best in Live for Speed.
Just thinking..
