No, the solution is stereo with the option of binaural audio. There are more people that have headphones then 5.1 Surround sound speakers, so if you want to cater to the majority then surround sound does not help you do that. 5.1 Surround sound is useless. And besides, if one can afford a 5.1 Surround Sound speaker system, they can spend $20USD on a pair of noise canceling headphones.
