The problem for a newbie is quite simple (just as Scawen said):
If you dont know anything, you dont know the correct technical term, which you will need to find the thing you are looking for (if it's there at all).
When your car is too slow, this could have several reasons, maybe it's even a bug (you cant know really, specially when ur used to games from EA :P).
However, I have been talking to vic lately about this problem of not finding anything, and what we need to do is:

1. start some sort of SEO (search engine optimization)
All content on lfsworld is for example generated dynamically (client side that is - javascript), and google's spider crawler bots cant find ANY of this content when looking through your page. This might be minor important, because lfsworld contains mostly stats, but it's never bad to be found more easily by google users.
A good idea would be simply putting the url of the official LFS pages onto any team page. This helps a lot to improve a page rank

2. make some public faq which is maintained by admins/mods
This thing should be implemented in the Forum, or some equal database. You can post your problem there, and if it was fixed (or not), it will be put into a big list where all problems are listed. ALL in ONE list -> easier search.
This list must be sorted logically of course. That means, if you have a problem regarding your wheel (let's say Force feedback doesnt work), you will find links in many different sections, like general hardware faq, a wheels thread, or in the explanation of the menu.
Many ways lead to Rome
I would say, if this is done nicely, it will work alone, without help from the devs. You can't demand that they write complete user guides and also keep them up do date. You have no clue how damn much work this is. Ok, other community members could write this, but it's much nicer is it's completely dynamic, and any user can post a question or add content.
It's a bit like the LFS wiki, which is a great project, but it doesnt work like it's now, because nobody knows the link. Also, you cant really ask questions there.
The newbies most likely dont even know lfsworld...

www.lfswiki.net

There is already a sticky in the main forum, but maybe someone can set the URL in the title? Mentioning the wiki on liveforspeed.net could help as well.
Quote from Scawen :So... where's the sticky that is so easy to find, that mentions the Pit Limiter?

It's easier, quicker and nicer to just help a beginner. Just say "It's the pit limiter, press L", or don't say anything at all if you are a bit annoyed that a beginner hasn't been able to find the answer - maybe he has looked in the wrong place, searched the wrong keywords, etc. Why can't he just ask a simple question? This is the beginner's forum, where beginners can ask questions and get some help!

Anyone who says "read the sticky" should provide a link to the sticky, if it's so easy to find!

Oops. Got told off. Sorry Boss.

IT was kinda toungue in cheek.

Sorry again.

Won't happen again.

Sorry. Sir.
