Got problems with turning in LFS
Ok, I don't know how to describe this, but I do my best

I got this Logitec Driving Force Ex, a good standar wheel that works like charm in every racing game. But lately, since Y patch actually, I got a problem when turning in LFS. Turning to left is fine, and it's accurate, but when turning to right problems strikes me...

When turning to right, when around half way around on right side (180 wheel) it get's buggy in game. It goes from some turn to max lock, then if I turn in more it get's back to that point it should be on, and then when full lock it's ofc is full lock..

Ah... so hard to explain, even made a short movie for it.

Anyone have a idea? Turning from lock to lock.

Edit : And yes, works like charm in any other games, but not LFS. When turning on 900 wheel turn too in-game, then the problem is solved too, but that ain't possible to drive with when having a wheel that turns 180 max.
Never had such problems before Seeing as it only happends in LFS, maybe you should unlock calibration, reinitialize controllers and recalibrate (manually) the wheel in LFS. Thats all I can think of for now
Yeah, it's so strange, and harder to explain lol.
But on video I was slowly turning to right, then right again, and you saw how the wheel acted O_o

Okay mate, I will try to do that, but if not - what should I try? :/
Wheel drives are up to date, and it's only in LFS it act this way.

what does the windows calibration for this wheel show in game controllers - it is matching the movement of the wheel with what is on screen?

is it anything FFB related - turn FFB off and see if its still an issue with no 'resistance'

HTH
It's matching the real life movment of wheel perfectly, so no mis-sync there

What you said about no ressistance made me curious -

I don't like drinving with FF, so I have no FF, and like 0% force to have no resistance. This is due to I like to be able to turn the wheel fast, and not need to fight against strong wheel

Can it be a problem there you think?
This one seems very strange as it turns to the left perfectly.

What is your 'wheel turn compensation' set to in game? I think I used to have it set to 1.00 when I used my FFEX.

Also what is your in game controller degrees set to?

270 used to do the trick for me, it gave similar effect to what your wheel is doing now to the right hand side, but both sides and at the very end of the wheel turn.

slightly off topic. if you're using fraps, it might be set at 6fps. maybe install drivers again.

I can also suggest turning ingame AA off, as it locks fps at abnormally low values (unlike driver forced AA)

I think I use 0.30 or 0.50 , not completely sure. On every angle set to (turn amount) it's only the 900 that works as it should do.

In game I use 180, as 180 is the amount my wheel turns in total.

crysis with fraps is much more pictures that that, normalyl I don't have problem recording most games at 60FPS, but in LFS no matter what it's locked to 6 by some reason :s

Someone call jakg!
Try wheel turn compensation at 1.00.

your wheel turns 200*

Hehe thanks you two, will try to cuddle some with the settings and give feedback tomorrow if it were a success.
Damn, when tryint to recalibre wheel in windows it seems to do same error, so guess it's my wheel then =(

But don't get it how it has turned out this way...

Ok, so if it's not just LFS problem, I can assume there might be problems with Pot of the steering axis inside the wheel, or maybe it's contact got loose. If your wheel is out of warranty and you're confident with what you'll going to do, maybe try to open the wheel and see whats inside

What it looks like is just a pot spiking
What is pot spiking?

Actually it might explain a other problem with it - I can't simply just go...straight. It either goes some to left or right, but never completely straigh

Faggot wheel lol.

Faggot wheel lol.

Its the pot (potentiometer=sensor) giving a non-smooth data abouts its postion, its kind of spiking, so I guess it is a faulty wheel, if its still on warranty, I'd take it back to the shop
Awww
Maybe I could ask Jakg to make a guide, because I am not sure if the varanty is over 1 year. If that the case I can just experiment with it..
normaly, if you haven't opened it yet, the waranty should last at least 2 years (only in Germany?)
Norway here, not sure about that.
Problem is that I buyed it from a electric store, and I don't have the note of payment, you know that little note about price etc etc - don't have that anymore.

Is there still a hope here?

Well, if you have no warranty, you've got nothing to loose but to open it and look whats inside. Its not hard. As you described, it sounds like a pot problem, so you should try to unplug it and then replug back, if the problem remains, replacing the pot might be the cure, they shouldn't be hard to find. Just unplug it and go with it to a store/market in a searc of the same one.

I had the same problem, just with pedals, but its the same principles anyway, changing the pot did the trick for me
Hehe, any link that describes this pot for me? Kind of new to me, but if I had something to read about it on, maybe I could get more of it
Thanks mate, I take a coke and digg into it
Ok this just beats me, after cusuming : 2 cokes, 1 kebab, 1 chocolate bar, 10 min of pr0n watch to fix my head, 1 more coke I STILL not get it.
Ok, I think I just might buy a new one lol..
