Quote from sam93 :Hamilton and Kimi under investigation because of the little battle on the pit straight/chicane, Hamilton gave him the lead back but just overtook him at the 1st corner he played fair.

Quote from samjh :What an incredibel battle between Kimi and Hamilton though. I was strongly reminded of Arnoux vs Villeneuve.

Arnoux/Villeneuvo is in totally different category though. Looking at the kimi/Louis battle was more like who can keep the car on track, kinda reminded more about the last year's fuji race (it was?). Neither was able to even keep it on the tarmac, both being saved many times by the huge run-off areas. Heart bounding stuff though, absolutely painstaking to watch
Quote from garph :How to ruin an amazing last 2 laps of an F1 race (and the race).......have steward’s inquiry....again.

they better not do anything... it really would be a massive anti-climax...
LOL! Hamilton sais Kimi was not FAIR with him in the chicane (before finish) THIS IS AN IDIOT!!!! :vomit:

You are going to say this you dont like Hamilton, every race he wins people say he is an idiot and so on. When will people realise he is going to be a multiple world champion, he is a very good racing driver, you cant say he isn't, people in F1 and some of the best racing drivers in the world.
Quote from Töki (HUN) :LOL! Hamilton sais Kimi was not FAIR with him in the chicane (before finish) THIS IS AN IDIOT!!!! :vomit:

Not really. You are for all the anti Hamilton stuff again, give it a rest and just enjoy the racing cause if you want to pick everything he does apart as being unfair we can do the same with every driver.

if my glasses was correct Kimi just drove him off the track (as most racing drivers does), kinda unfair I guess but perfectly normal anyway...

but I would wonder what would Massa has said if anyone did that on him...
Hamilton wins-hes an idiot, hamilton crashes-hes an idiot..... when he isnt an idiot for once?
Quote from Töki (HUN) :LOL! Hamilton sais Kimi was not FAIR with him in the chicane (before finish) THIS IS AN IDIOT!!!! :vomit:

I think both Hamilton and Kimi were pretty fair at the chicane.
Quote from samjh :I think both Hamilton and Kimi were pretty fair at the chicane.

Yes, I think the same, but the egoman finds out everything... And that's disgusting.
I can see why Hamilton would say the chicane maneuvre was 'unfair', it did seem as if Räikkönen intentionally changed his line just before the apex to push Hamilton completely off the track. That said, it's not my place to decide whether it's worth a penalty or not, so I'll wait and see what the stewards decide.
hamilon lost out a lot less by cutting the chicane, but it isn't in any stretch illegal, if kimi were smarter he should claim the place back at the exit of la source and impend Lewis's exit, cos it was obvioius that hamilton will try to get back at him as soon as kimi is ahead.
.....anyway.

Was a great finish, really nerve hammering. Shame Kimi lost it, not a great race and it's a shame it takes rain to make it interesting.

multiple no... maybe this year, yes.

What about the overtaking in T1? Hamilton cut the last chicane. However he left Kimi go away, but he DID gain time with cutting and it was easy to overtake due to drafting...

If Hamilton didn't cut the track, he COULDN'T have taken Kimi over. That's a fact!
Nothing should get done, but if Lewis was complaining about Kimi pushing him wide on the outside of a corner....will thats is slightly ironic, he has done that in other races and we have had many debates about the whether that is far or not.
I don't think it played any part at all in finishing positions of the race.

Its just crappy that the result is not the result as we have to wait to be sure, it just makes F1 a bit more rubbish.

The thing about chicanes is that it is the second corner, not the first, that really matters. Hamilton had partial overlap through the first corner, and probably hoped to scare Kimi to go wide through the second. Kimi didn't agree to the deal, which I think he had the right to do.

If the stewards penalise either driver, then racing in F1 has gone to the dogs (well, it had already gone to the dogs, but today was a glimmer of hope that it was coming back to its former glory).

(I hope we're all talking about the same incident. )
..... he let Kimi go infront of him!!! what about when Kimi went off the track where its not so west and got a run down onto Hamilton, where they nearly crashed into Rosberg i believe.... that is also considered as cutting isnt it?......
Quote from Töki (HUN) :If Hamilton didn't cut the track, he COULDN'T have taken Kimi over. That's a fact!

I believe that Kimi crashed after the incident on the pit straight didn't he, so if Hamilton didn't get the upper hand on Kimi on the chicane he would of passed him when he crashed, thats if he would of crashed in this case. Hamilton was just ahead of Kimi when turning into the chicane, not a full car length but he was ahead of Kimi.

But kimi did the ultimate sacrifice......by hitting a wall.

Very good point. Hamilton did that him past and that was far he just got the power down better and overtook Kimi.

If Kimi had left space maybe Hamilton wouldn't have to take the escape route. I'm sorry but this is mostly Kimi's fault. And Toki you just seem to be a Hamilton hater tbh. Everytime theres an incident in which hes involved your agaisnt him. Watch the replay or video of it on youtube if you can find it and watch how much space he has. He was forced out by Kimi. The risk is if he clipped the curb and lost control hitting Kimi. He chose not to take that risk and simply went into the escape route and let Kimi by. And anyways whats the point... Kimi ruined his podium anyways.

Amazing race imo. Great fun.

So you're saying that Hamilton should've crashed into Kimi at the final chicane instead of cutting the corner? He had no choice - cut the corner or crash. He did the right thing.

Of course he'll get a penalty for it though, because his car isn't red enough.
